Three time Formula 1 World Champion Niki Lauda was born 76 years ago today.
Driving for Brabham, BRM, Ferrari, March and McLaren he garnered 24 pole positions and 25 wins. He also gained respect from fellow drivers, teams and fans all around the world returning to his sport following a life altering crash at the 1976 German Grand Prix a scant six weeks later.
Lauda passed away in his sleep on May 20th, 2005 at the age of 70.
