The McLaren M23 was a Formula One racing car designed by Gordon Coppuck, with input from John Barnard.

The M23 was never the most technically advanced F1 car, but sound preparation and continual development helped it win 16 Grands Prix, two drivers' and one constructors' world championships in its lifetime, between 1973 and 1977.

This model is the 1976 version with lower air intakes used by James Hunt to win the title in the epic battle with Niki Lauda (as seen also in Ron Howard's movie RUSH).

In 1977 the same car was used by Gilles Villeneuve in his F1 debut.

Still in basic Air Berlin livery including tail logo, with LAUDA MOTION titles... Operating service for Eurowings.

First flown with the Airbus test registration D-AVHX, this aircraft was delivered to ILFC International Lease finance Corporation and leased to Air Jamaica as 6Y-JMW in Jun-03. It was returned to the lessor as N341LF in Aug-09 and stored at Miami, Fl, USA.

The aircraft was leased to Air Berlin as D-ABCG in Nov-09. At the end of 2016, Air Berlin was having financial problems and it was sub-leased to 'fly niki' as OE-LCG in Feb-17 and operated in full Air Berlin livery with small 'Operated by Niki' titles on the left side only.

Air Berlin ceased operations at the end of Oct-17 and the aircraft was wet-leased to Eurowings. Unfortunately, 'fly niki' also ceased operations in mid Dec-17. The aircraft was returned to the lessor and stored at Vienna, Austria in Jan-18.

In Feb-18 the aircraft was leased to Niki Lauda's new company, LAUDA MOTION and it was wet-leased to Eurowings again in Mar-18, still in basic Air Berlin livery. It returned to LAUDA MOTION at the end of the month.

The aircraft was returned to the lessor in Feb-19 and was stored at Larnaca, Cyprus. It was leased to Eurowings in Sep-19 as D-AEUA and ferried to Shannon for painting. However, it wasn't painted and was stored at Shannon. It never entered service with Eurowings.

In Jul-21 the aircraft was transferred to Lufthansa Technik and ferried to Lasham, UK for further storage. It ferried to Singapore-Seletar in Dec-21 for 'P2F' (Passenger to Freighter) conversion.

Conversion was completed in Aug-22 and it was transferred to Lufthansa CityLine in Sep-22. CityLine operate the aircraft on behalf of Lufthansa Cargo. Updated 06-Oct-22.
