Das Quartier Latin (deutsch Lateinisches Viertel) ist das traditionelle Studentenviertel in Paris. Sein Name leitet sich von der Tatsache ab, dass die Studenten und Gelehrten der nahegelegenen Sorbonne dort über lange Zeit Latein sprachen. Der Begriff Quartier Latin bezeichnet kein Viertel im strengen Sinne der Gliederung der Pariser Verwaltungsstruktur (das Gebiet gehört hauptsächlich zum 5. Arrondissement), sondern einen größtenteils an den Hängen der Montagne Sainte-Geneviève gelegenen Bereich mit unpräzisen Grenzen, in dem sich die Aktivitäten der Pariser Universität sowie einer Reihe anderer Bildungseinrichtungen konzentrieren. As I was walking down Hollywood Beach he stopped me, and asked me if I could take a photo of them, and told me that he had a ring on his pocket and was going to proposed to her, so I took about three photos with his camera, and then I got the chance to take this photos of them with mine.

Uma das mais visitas de Belém, a praça Batista Campos recebeu este nome em 1897, numa homenagem do então intendente Antônio Lemos ao cônego Antônio Batista Gonçalves Campos.
Mais do que sacerdote,
Batista Campos foi o pregador da liberdade na Amazônia. Dono do jornal “O Paraense”, foi preso inúmeras vezes por seus artigos polêmicos, tendo conquistado muitos inimigos políticos. Publicou, por exemplo, o manifesto de Dom Pedro I favorável à independência do Brasil. Mais tarde, recebeu o reconhecimento do Império e foi condecorado duas vezes, quando esteve preso no Rio de Janeiro: como Cavaleiro da Ordem de Cristo e da Ordem do Cruzeiro, além de ser nomeado Arcipreste da Catedral de Belém. Batista Campos morreu em 31 de dezembro de 1834, na Vila de Barcarena.
A praça Batista Campos foi redesenhada e reconstruída em 1901, e, após um longo esquecimento, sofreu uma ampla reforma em 1986, baseada em relatórios do próprio Antônio Lemos e fotos da reconstrução, na administração do prefeito Coutinho Jorge.
Hoje a praça encontra-se conservada, com a revitalização das pontes e brinquedos, realizada em 2003. Está prevista a construção de um banheiro público no segundo semestre de 2004.
