We didn’t know it at the time, but on the very last weekend of Denver’s Rio Grande Ski Train, the westbound passenger train full of excited skiers ascends the Colorado Rockies at Crescent on March 27, 2009. Running through the fresh snow this early morning, the train only has two more round trips to Winter Park before it becomes part of Colorado’s railroad history.
This is for Mona....I forgot to post her a Friday evening drinkie shot last weekend ;-)

Homemade New York style Cheesecake with fresh strawberry compote to celebrate our chacha's (my FIL's younger brother) birthday.
Both him and chachi are very dear to us and we owe our love for the city of Bangalore entirely to them, as it was them who introduced the city to us in 2004. As I write this I remember the wonderful getogethers we had in our apt in Defence Colony, fantastic Bloody Mary's at RSI, movies at Rex, feasting dinners at Samarkand, spicy hot lunches at Nagarjuna followed by Death by Chocolate and so much more.
Interestingly, he has appeared in my photos here and here from our Kerala trip in December 2008.
I used this recipe to make the cheesecake. As can be seen in the comments there, the quantity of the filling is too little, so I doubled it. Also, I made fresh strawberry compote instead of using the can pie filling.
