This gorgeous large spider--- Argiope Aurantia---is known by the common names of "Black and Yellow Garden Spider;" "Corn Spider;" and my personal favorite, "Writing Spider," because the central portion of the web (the stabilimenta) bears a resemblance to writing.

This piece began with an original digital painting in Procreate. I passed that to the MidJourney AI and let it do variations with a few different prompts. When a variation caught my eye I retouched it with TouchRetouch, scaled it with topaz photo AI, did a little post processing in Photoshop, and a lot of retouching in Procreate
One from the archives back in Co, Cork. On this particular day there were hundreds of damselflies in among the streamside vegetation. This one landed on a Buttercup flower. You can just make out a blue species behind also. Lovely memories, HBBBT everyone!

Was showing a client the rooftop of a new building at Hudson Yards today. This was our first look as we stepped off the elevator. So funny.
This is a rental building and this rooftop is quite spectacular.

The Large red damselfly is a medium-sized damselfly that lives around the edges of ponds, lakes, ditches and canals, and can also be found away from breeding sites in grassland and woodland. The earliest damselfly to emerge in the UK, it is on the wing from the end of April through to August. It is a regular visitor to gardens.
