This is the largest rose I’ve ever seen, easily the size of an extra-large grapefruit or comparable to a magnolia blossom! I stumbled upon it at dawn, fully bloomed and magnificent. It grows on my property, but since I don’t go to that spot daily, it could have been so easily missed. The light was barely enough to see, let alone photograph, but I couldn’t wait until morning...
We took the boat across the Rappahannock River from the Northern Neck of Virginia to the Middle Peninsula.
This is Robinson’s Creek in Middlesex County about 1.4 miles from the town of Urbana.
You can’t build boathouses on the rivers and creeks here anymore because they obstruct the views. If you already have one then it is grandfathered in and you can keep it, if it is kept in good repair.
This is one of the larger and nicer boathouses I have seen. I thought it made a pretty picture with the autumn foliage behind it.
Photo taken in London in March 2018, but as relevant now in times of covid when many shops are sadly closing.
Very Large Catch.
Eagle at Bombay Hook NWR with a fish that was too large for it to lift. So it was dragging it towards the shore until another eagle tried to steal it and the fish escaped.

"Only large-diameter trees have enough girth to contain the nest and roost cavities of this species, so there is concern for populations of this woodpecker where late-successional forests are being converted to younger stands. Availability of suitable habitat is apparently the factor limiting most populations." Birds of the World
The large red damselfly (Pyrrhosoma nymphula) is a species of damselflies belonging to the family Coenagrionidae. This species is a mainly European damselfly, with some populations in Northern Africa and Western Asia. The damselflies inhabit small ponds, lakes and dikes, and occasionally slow-moving rivers. The great red damselfly is often the first damselfly to emerge, usually in April or May (Wikipedia).

The large red damselfly is large and red as its name suggests, or at least the male of the species is; the female is almost completely black. The larvae develop in still water and feed on tiny crustaceans and other insect larvae, helping to keep population numbers balanced. This species is one of the first damselflies to emerge in spring

Large Frogmouth, Batrachostomus auritus, Burung Segan Besar
This species occurs in Southeast Asia from Thailand to Kalimantan. It hunts by night, on the ground and in the canopy, feeding on insects such as grasshoppers and cicadas. It roosts by day, perching on a branch or hidden in a hole, singly or possibly in pairs. A near threatened and totally protected species in Peninsular Malaysia.

This gorgeous large spider--- Argiope Aurantia---is known by the common names of "Black and Yellow Garden Spider;" "Corn Spider;" and my personal favorite, "Writing Spider," because the central portion of the web (the stabilimenta) bears a resemblance to writing.
Large and Many, 230113 Original digital abstract with Procreate, MidJourney, Topaz photo, Photoshop, and TouchRetouch. Created on an iPad Pro with Apple Pencil.
This piece began with an original digital painting in Procreate. I passed that to the MidJourney AI and let it do variations with a few different prompts. When a variation caught my eye I retouched it with TouchRetouch, scaled it with topaz photo AI, did a little post processing in Photoshop, and a lot of retouching in Procreate
