I know flowers are overrepresented on Flickr, but some are just so cool. :-)
These Cape Daisies aren't unusual in Southern California, either. They're ubiquitous as drought-tolerant ground cover. In addition to the blazing yellow color here (straight out of the camera) I really like the white-spotted black splotches that must be like airport landing lights to a pollinating insect.
Due to my inability to capture sharp pictures of these small birds in flight, heres an unsharp picture i liked nonetheless.

Tijdens deze expositie kun je het werk zien van verschillende kunstenaars die hebben deelgenomen aan Landing Soon, het 'artist in residence' programma van Heden en Cemeti Art House in Yogyakarta, Java. Heden toont de resultaten van Ralph Kämena, Urs Pfannenmüller, Elizabeth de Vaal, Cilia Erens en Rosalie Monod de Froideville.
For such a big bird the Australian Pelican can be amazingly graceful in flight. The take off may be a little ungainly but the soaring and landing is something to behold. They are the Boeing 747s of the bird world.
