My very first photo with the Macro lens.

I made these for a birthday at my brother in laws home for my nephew,

They love lace cookies and is very easy for me to make.

Laced Woodpecker, Belatuk Hijau, Picus vittatus

Uncommon species that can be found in mangroves, coconut trees in the seashore and tall scrubs by the mangroves area. Feeds on insects, worms and larvae obtained from tree trunks and ground.

I saw a Lace Wing on a window with its reflection creating a fine photo opportunity. It got camera shy after a while and flew away, and all the shots I got were rubbish. This was the best of a bad lot, so I decided to try rescung it with a bit of creative processing.

Chantilly Lace with whipped cream.

A David Austin, old-world, climbing rose.

Flowering in pastel pink and alabaster white.

I have not featured this rose before. It was photographed at the amazing Roxborough Park Rose Gardens.

There is section at Roxborough Park Rose Gardens devoted to climbing roses. It is a circular display of roses, and you can sit in the middle on white bench seats.

Detail of a lace shawl I handspun and knitted a few years ago. The blended yarn was inspired by plumage of a Nicobar pigeon. The pattern is the Peacock Shawlette by Kitman Figueroa, available on Ravelry.

Chasing some passing storms last week offered this wonderful opportunity.

I consider lace to be one of the prettiest imitations ever made of the fantasy of nature; lace always evokes for me those incomparable designs which the branches and leaves of trees embroider across the sky, and I do not think that any invention of the human spirit could have a more graceful or precise origin.

Traditional "Kebaya" tops made using this embroidered lace were worn together with sarongs by the Nyonya or Peranakan ladies in the past and are still popular now with local women during special occasions or those in the tourism industry. This was actually framed-up and used to decorate a Nyonya restaurant in Kuala Lumpur.
