While travelling in Portugal, I had the opportunity to visit a beautiful private home in Porto, where we got to sample some lovely Port & learn that it goes so perfectly with chocolate. These lace curtains bring back such wonderful memories - one of the best perks of travel.

It has probably been about 40 years since I had a shuttle in my hand, a tatting shuttle. I taught myself this art along with crocheting, knitting, macrame, and sewing. If you ever saw someone "tatting", it is sort of a bizarre lookIng process that creates beautiful lace. When I saw this challenge, I had to go digging for this tiny sewing basket that had my threads in it. Unfortunately, the shuttle was missing or it would have been part of the composition. I wonder where that shuttle is.

Looking Close... on Friday: Shoes with Laces

Taking these pictures definitely reminded me why my classmates and I have decided unanimously not to use these torture instrum... I mean these pretty, delicate shoes anymore. 😄 They're beautiful and it's a great sense of achievement, but OW, they HURT.

Also, I was hoping the background would remain smooth, but... well, Pixie.
