The electrolytics are made by ITT. This was a great company who also made my very first transistor radio I ever owned; the ITT Junior 2.

Technician Arne Swanson holds an ingot of titanium consolidated using the Retech plasma furnace in the background. The furnace is used with reactive materials like titanium that can't be melted using more traditional metal or ceramic crucibles.
Materials researchers at the U.S. Department of Energy's Ames Laboratory use this melt spinner to form metallic glass. A stream of molten metal is poured onto the large, spinning copper wheel and solidifies so quickly that the material forms in a thin ribbon that retains an amorphous molecular structure similar to the liquid state instead of the crystalline structure normally found in solid metals.

Managing the quality of laboratory processes leads to improved results and a greater confidence for clinicians and patients. As a result of this global expansion boosted with cutting edge technologies, quality management and risk management is becoming increasingly important for running IVF clinics, and consequently it is fast becoming "prime debatable topic".https://ivfworld.wordpress.com/2015/06/22/ivf-icsi-iui-art-lab-setup-embryology-art-technology-in-fertility-clinic/

I just figured I'd post these laboratory pictures in case anybody is interested in how they look and/or wants to use them for a school paper or something similar
I found this crazy antique contraption tucked into a corner in the lab......it might be time for it to go. Oh and "Air Pollution Field Test Apparatus" is its official name.
The IVF lab has an extremely important role to play. Unfortunately, this is an area where lots of IVF clinics take shortcuts. Many don't even have a full-time embryologist.http://www.shivaniivf.com
The experience and the expertise of the IVF doctor make a world of a difference. The success of ivf treatment and the clinic is jointly associated with the well managed and equipped ivf lab.https://ivfworld.wordpress.com/2015/07/30/inside-world-class-ivf-laboratory

Surplus auction day!
I bought a creepy set of baby legs in a box for Bridget, a fairly nice slide projector with a fairly nice lens, what appears to be a super nice digital projector, and another old MacBook Pro that I have no use for. I haven't tested the other things, but I've already discovered that the MacBook is broken. Oh well; I only paid ten bucks for it this time.
What I *didn't* buy was a goddamn SCANNING ELECTRON MICROSCOPE (pictured), which sold for TEN AMERICAN DOLLARS. What the heck. If I had any idea how to actually use a scanning electron microscope, had a place to put it, and had a way to get it back to St. Louis, that would've made for some awesome photography opportunities.

The KT88 is a beam tetrode/kinkless tetrode (hence "KT") vacuum tube for audio amplification. The KT88 is indirectly heated, although I can't remember having to wait for the power pack to warm up.
As far as valves/tubes go, these visually were dull.
