LSL Midland Pullman with Class 43 No.43049 Neville Hill in the Intercity Swallow Livery descends Whiteball,with the 08:12 Crewe HS to Plymouth Friary empty stock working,on the 3rd of June 2022.
LSL 47593 'Galloway Princess' speeds down Vulcan Bank passing *Vulcan Village with a HST Mk3 stock move to Crewe. The coat of Arms on the end gable was taken down from Vulcan Foundry during the demolition process which coincided with the village refurbishment.
* Pole @ 8m.
*Built by the Vulcan Foundry in 1835 to house its workers. There are 114 houses in the six rows of Terraces, all named after major cities.
In 1986 the village gained the status of a conservation area.

LSL Class 37 37688 -'Great Rocks' was running through Leamington Spa with the 11.10 Eastleigh Arlington to Crewe ECS move (5Z44) on May 4th 2022. The two-coach consist was formed of BR Mk.I FK 13327 and Midland Pullman HST trailer car M41169, both vehicles being returned to Crewe following attention at Eastleigh.
It's more than 54 years since the last Blue Pullman ran down these rails.
Seen at Chinley, the splendid LSL Midland Pullman HST on it's Inaugural Railtour from St Pancras, follows in the tracks of its long lost predecessor. In the distance can be seen Chinley North Junction signal box where the original Manchester - St Pancras Blue Pullman service diverged for Peak Forest and the Monsal Valley.
The weather was dire but fortunately it stopped raining for this picture.

LSL`s 47810 (D1924) named "Crewe Diesel Depot" races across the south junction at Church Fenton with 1Z31 the 05.46 Perth to York `The York Christmas Statesman` charter ,47805 (D1935) named "Roger Hosking MA 1925-2013" was doing its best to keep up on the back. 05/12/2025.
This scene will be gone soon when the wires go up and a new bridge replaces this one.

The farmer has cut the Wheat in the West field at Golborne, so for one full day only the bales were in the field and it coincided nicely with the Green LSL 20's working LE to their facility at Carlisle Upperby.
* This would have been nice in hard sunlight but that has been in short supply of late.

37409 tows 57303, D8107 (20107), D8096 (20096) & 5 former DB owned mk11s out of Broadholme up loop and over the River Derwent on 29/11/23. The 37 was having a test run after an engine change & reactivation at HNRC at Worksop, the train operating as 5Z63 1249 Worksop-Crewe LSL.
47828 leads 47805 at a typically gloomy and windswept Auchengray on the return leg of the Edinburgh Explorer
Locomotive Services Limited Class 20, 20107 (D8107) "Jocelyn Feilding 1940-2020" runs light engine through Nantwich as the sun sets returning to base as 0Z20 16:45 Newport (Gwent) to Crewe Holding Sidings (VSTP).
The "chopper" once again proving to be a Really Useful Engine and a key member of the LSL fleet after it took over the hauling of Mr. Hosking's private train after the Black 5 that had been leading suffered wheelflats at Llandeilo.
20107 had been tucked inside the steam locomotive to provide support, but when The Sherwood Forester encountered its issues the 20 eventually worked the Load 8 train forward solo from Llandeilo to Carmarthen Sidings, then after an overnight stop it again worked the train solo via Cardiff to Newport, where two of LSL's Class 37s took over.
Its heroic work done, the diminutive diesel then returned to Crewe Diesel for a well-earned break.
