A total of seven Cessna Skymasters were operated by the Mauritania Islamic Air Force for transport and liaison duties. They were acquired in the early seventies when the Air Force signifcantly grew after the independence of Mauritania from France in 1960.
This particular Skymaster was licence-built in France by Reims Aviation, and became 5T-MAH in service with the Air Force. Like its sisterships, it became an infrequent but regular visitor to Geneva, usually coming in for maintenance. 5T-MAH was subsequently seen parked at the General Aviation Center, also showing off its "Patroller Door", a modification to the starboard cabin door to improve downward visibility for aerial observation.
5T-MAH was built in 1971 and flew in Niger with private owners before being acquired by Mauritania in 1973. Its current whereabouts are unknown, except that it was withdrawn from use in the early eighties, and that marks 5T-MAH were re-allocated to a Basler BT-67 in the nineties.
