The Car: 1969 Camaro with a Mast LS7 and a T-56 Magnum Transmission
The Project: The Camaro will be receiving our DSE Hydroformed Subframe, QUADRALink™, 4 point DSE Roll Cage, Mini Tub Kit and Subframe Connectors. The car will also be receiving Baer Brakes, a DSE Super Tank 1000 Series, C&R Radiator, DSE SS Headers and a full custom 3” exhaust system.
The Owner: This is Ronnie Buhr’s first project with DSE. He chose Detroit Speed to transform his car into a Pro-Touring Camaro that will ride and handle better than he ever imagined.

One of the fun things about my family members is the range of occupations and interests they encompass. My sister's husband and their son are auto mechanics and regularly work on everything from passenger vehicles to transports. But their passion lies in restoration and customization, an area they indulge in for personal pleasure as well as commercially. Now that winter is wrapping up, this year's pet projects are coming together, getting ready for their formal debut in a few weeks, once the weather warms up and the car show season starts up in earnest.
This is my nephew, Brandon's new toy largely assembled, but with the engine still visible. For those who have an interest in such things, this is a customized Chevrolet Sonoma pickup truck, frame stretched, a crew cab added, and, prominent in this photo, an LS7 engine, one usually found in the Corvette Z06 (405 HP - to start, at least and destined to head well beyond that shortly). I am looking forward to getting a ride soon and then car show visitors are likely to get a look at it this summer. Boys and their toys! - JW
This is a single image HDR so technically it is tone-mapped and not true HDR. The single image was taken in extremely mixed lighting (impossible to balance this, sadly), using a hand held Nikon D5000 fitted with a Nikkor 12-24mm lense set to 12mm, ISO800, Aperture priority mode, f/5.6, 1/60 sec. HDR processing was done using Luminance/Qtpfsgui with settings as indicated below. Additional PP was done using GIMP: tone curves adjust to restore full range of tones, some colour balance adjustment to deal with the odd mix of lighting, sharpen, add border and scale to 1024 wide for posting.
