I remember taking this on an Olympus OM2 with a 24mm lens. It was in the Burley/Hyde Park area of Leeds, LS6. Taken around 1987. Nice old car in the background too: a Volvo?
The occupants of Royal Park School in Hyde Park, Leeds really did a good job of tidying this place up. Some of the rooms look like they could easily become classrooms again. Others had taken a beating by the weather.

This is the Bear Pit on Cardigan Road in Headingley. It was part of the Leeds Zoological & Botanical Gardens which opened in 1840. Funds were limited and the only large animal they could afford was a Bear which was bought in 1843. The bear was viewed from the top of the turrets. Sunday opening of the gardens was not welcomed by the church and when a vote was held and the church was defeated it was agreed the gardens would open on a Sunday but you had to buy the ticket on a Saturday from a shop on Briggate. The Gardens were divided into building plots and sold off from 1869. I am not sure what happened to the Leeds Bear but the one at Rosherville Gardens at Gravesend, in Kent, was skinned and its meat sold to the local Queens Hotel for the guests to eat
CHECK OUT www.mustangjames.blogspot.com FOR ALL PROJECT DETAILS OR FIND ME ON CARDOMAIN. This is my 2002 SN95 with T5 trans. I stroked it from 3.8L (232ci) to 4.2L (256ci). I swapped in a F150 crank, forged Eagle rods and forged Diamond dished pistons. The cam is from Isky Racing Cams ground to 214/214 0.502" 112 degree. The whole top end is from a 1993 SuperCoupe Thunderbird. The aluminum heads are single port, fully ported and polished. I put in GM LS4 valves and guides, each valve is 11 grams lighter and 0.100" bigger, GM LS6 valve springs, stock rockers for now. On the heads are long tube headers from PaceSetter. The intake manifold was port matched to the heads and polished in as far as I could reach. The supercharger is an Eaton M90 with a fully ported case and a 10% overdrive pulley. Ported and polished intake plenums and throttle body as well. TwEECer RT tuning package. Check my CarDomain page for a full list of project parts and Blog for all the project details. Power goal is simply 400+RWTQ, daily driver with limited slip and 3.73's.
