LS3 6.2L V8 Engine:

The 6.2 Liter LS3 V8 − standard in coupe and convertible − produces an SAE-certified 430 horsepower at 5900 rpm and 424 lb.-ft. of torque at 4600 rpm. Power output is even higher with the available dual-mode exhaust system with 436 hp at 5900 rpm and 428 lb.-ft. of torque at 4600 rpm. Yet the engine achieves a remarkable EPA estimated MPG 16 city, 26 highway with the standard six-speed manual transmission. Even with its impressive performance, the engine does not incur a federal government gas-guzzler penalty.

Evanta Barchetta (2015) Engine 6162cc V8 LS3

Production 49 (limited)

Registration Number ONE 44 (personalised number, first allocated for Manchester)

Designed by Ant Anstead founder of Evanta cars and known via his Chanel 4 TV programme For The Love of Cars, in a joint venture with tuning company Kahn. Designed as a retro style 50s two seater sportscar. and built in Britain around a tubular chassis and clothed in a kevlar composite bodyshell, the Evanta Barchetta uses a GM-sourced 6.2-litre LS3 engine tuned to produce 450bhp.

Unveiled at the 2015 Goodwood Revival, Ant-Khans intention is to build no more than 20 such cars per year to a limited production run of 50.

The new set-up claims it wants to start manufacturing specialist vehicles exclusively in the UK, using the low-volume expertise of Evanta and the engineering and design skills of Bradford-based Kahn. A restyled Aston Martin WB12 will follow later in 2014, say the company's founders, while the Flying Huntsman will also be produced in 2014. It's a new take on the classic Land Rover Defender using the same GM V8 as the Barchetta, tuned for 550bhp in the 4x4, and has an extra 400mm of bodywork inserted in the nose of the 4x4.

Many thanks for a fantabulous

The sound of a straight piped LS3 engine in a Chevy Camaro V8 Thunder Car. This is a swedish one make series which shares the same engines and tech , but can have the body of a Camaro, Mustang or a Dodge Challenger. Sadly this was the only time you can hear it run at full chat due to noise rules on the race tracks , reducing the sound dramatically and kills much of the fun.

H-H Electronics first came to my attention a few years ago when the UK magazine 'Hi-Fi World' did a retrospective review of the TPA50-D. I now have a small collection of TPA Series units together with their BBC spec little brother - the AM8/12 mono block power amplifier shown here.

The H-H AM8/12 is uniquely designed to operate with the famous BBC Specification Studio Monitor (Loudspeaker) model LS3/5a. There is a switch mounted inside the amplifier that allows the frequency response of the unit to be modified. When the switch is in the 'down' position, the frequency response is 'flat' and the amplifier is suitable for general purpose use with larger speakers. When the switch is in the 'up' position the frequency response is 'corrected' to match the characteristics of the LS3/5a loudspeaker.

The manufacturer's specification can be found here:-

Holden HSV GTS (Series E) (2006-13) Engine 6162cc V8 LS3

Registration Number SV 61 BFL

The enhanced performance VE range sold by Holden Special Vehicles (HSV) (Holden Special Vehicles) was marketed as the E Series, comprising the Clubsport, Vauxhall VXR, GTS, Maloo (Utility), Senator, Senator SV08, and the W427

The GTS fundamental underpinnings are based on the mainstream VE Commodore models of the same years. The car is powered by GM's 6.2 litre LS3 V8 engine, with a maximum power output of 442 PS (325 kW). Buyers have the option of a six-speed manual transmission or six-speed automatic transmission; the manual is capable of reaching 0–100 km/h (0–62 mph) in 5.5 seconds and the automatic is capable of 0–100 km/h (0–62 mph) in 5.6 seconds. the E Series Series GTS was powered by a 6 litre V8 of 412bhp a more powereful unit than the cheaper Clubsport and more expensive Senator.

Replaced by the Seies 2 in September 2009 which had a more powerful drivetrain with the same GM LS3 6.2L V8 engine but while the rest of the HSV range still have 317 kW or 425 bhp, the GTS engine is rated at (325 kW). Twin bonnet scoops returned . and the model also featured f launch control on manual versions, a recalibrated version of the magnetic ride control suspension with stiffer springs for the HSV GTS, wider wheels and a new high-flow dual-mode muffler system

The Series 3 arrived in September 2010 It carried the same motor and drivetrain as before, and only minor changes to the exterior. In this series HSV focused on changes to the interior of the car as well as major upgrades to the computer systems and a new electronic interface External changes included the shock wave exhaust tips and grilles and new HID Xenon adaptive projector headlamps.
