SAM LS wins an award at Sun ‘n Fun
The first day of Sun ‘n Fun 2014, we had the visit of a volunteer who suggested we should enter the SAM LS in the friendly judging contest of the show. So… that is exactly what Thierry Zibi, CEO of Sam Aircraft set out to do. We then received the visit of judges who asked different questions about the aircraft, examined it carefully, took notes and went out to judge yet another aircraft. On Saturday morning, April 5th, a team of judges stopped at our booth with an invitation in hand. The SAM LS had won an “award”. But we wouldn’t know which one until the ceremony at 6 PM that same day. Turns out the SAM LS has won the Grand Champion award for Light Sport Aircraft.
With its retro look and modern design and avionics, the SAM LS really stands out of the crowd!

Le SAM LS remporte un prix à Sun ‘n Fun 2014!
La première journée de Sun ‘n Fun, nous avons reçu la visite d’un bénévole qui nous invita à inscrire le SAM LS au concours amical qui a lieu pendant l’événement aérien. C’est donc exactement ce qui fit Thierry Zibi, Président de Sam Aircraft. Par la suite, nous avons reçu la visite de juges qui ont posé différentes questions au sujet de l’avions, l’ont examiné sous toutes ses coutures, pris des notes puis sont partis juger un autre avion. Le samedi matin 5 avril, une équipe de juges est venue nous porter une invitation à notre kiosque. Le SAM LS avait gagné un prix, mais impossible de savoir lequel avant la cérémonie de remise à 18 heures le jour-même. C’est finalement le « Grand Champion award for Light Sport Aircraft » que le SAM LS a remporté.
Il faut avouer qu’avec son aspect rétro mais avec une conception et une avionique modernes, le SAM LS se distingue du lot!
Bravo à toute l’équipe de SAM Aircraft!
Finding this photograph I realise I had forgotten that LSs ever ran on Romford routes - by this time with RTs and even DMSs gone I was losing interest.
The news of Leyland Nationals entering service reached my ears, so I wandered off to Bow to catch them. My trusty bike is in the photo too.

This Lexus LS 400 used to belong to the Lexus UK Press fleet. However, it now belongs to @onecarefulowner who brought it down for us to see at AutoTweetUp
