Hughes designed (under the direction of Fowler) mixed traffic locomotive of the London Midland Scottish Railway.
This particular engine was built at the LMS works at Crewe in 1927.
It was a visitor the SVR on the 4th/5th/6th November 2016.

Once you've made one car it's a lot easier to make the others. The techniques have been decided upon and it's simply a case of copying them over. The centre coach is a different length to the outer two, as per the original train.
I'll admit that this render is a bit of a cheat. I've not included the powered coach so that you can see through all three cars.
BR class 08, 08805 at Tyseley depot, Birmingham, seen in its ficticious LMS red livery adjacent to the main depot entrance on the Warwick Road.
The TYS based Jocko was named "Concorde" and was given its original BR number of 3973.
It is still extant in 2020, painted in Railfreight grey and is utilised as the depot shunter at Soho.
It is seen coupled to an ancient blue tank wagon, used for Etheylene Glycol, or antifreeze.

I've also built the roofs. There's some colour variation in the parts, but that can be explained away as weathering.
On display at Perth Railfair was LMS liveried 'Leander'. (No- I don't know who the poser was in the hat!) My favourite colour for a Jubilee - red - LMS that is.
The last shot before the spectators intrude - managing to get just the edge of them here. Some persuasion was necessary to keep the view from the road clear.

Two coupled cars. The bogie pivots through a 5L Technic beam which acts as a bar coupling between the cars. This allows it to pivot independently of the cars and does not interfere with either the train's progress through curves, etc, or the articulation of car bodies. I have tested this on a small test track and it works rather well. Hopefully adding weight as the train is built up will not interfere with it's operation too much.

The shadows are lengthening rapidly as ex - L&Y 0-4-0 Pug running in the guise of LMS 11243, engages in shunting activity adjacent to Castlecroft Goods Warehouse, East Lancs Railway.

The midday sun reflects off the rusting remains of 28690 a former MerseyRail Class 503 unit, built at Metro Cammell in 1938. Certainly a long term project and one not for the faint hearted. Seen at the Coventry Electric Railway Museum prior to its closure on 8 October 2017, the unit has since moved to Locomotive Storage Limited at Margate.
The bodyshell taking shape. Due to the lack of resources, I am not including any interior as I have no idea which coach serves what purpose and what the layout might have been. I think I can get away with this given the lack of windows.
Missing a few parts. Clips can push 1 x 2 with Bar Handles at 45degrees. This gives enough clearance for the wheels to spin.
It's time to push on towards the finish. To that end I had a big building session and completed the first car.
Ex TLC Travel and Border Bus MX12DYO ADL Enviro 200.
Seen at Worcester Royal Hospital on service W3 which links the hospital with the Sixways Park & Ride site based at the home of Worcester Warriors Rugby Club.
The service runs at 10-15 minutes intervals in early mornings and after 3pm, but reduces to every 30 minutes between times. It is mainly used by NHS staff.
LMS 6127 Old Contemptibles, rushes through Brunswych Jct on load 16 and passes LMS black 5530 Sir Frank Ree.
Things get a little more complex with articulated vehicles. For the geometry to work unassisted you would need to have two attachment points on the bogie to ensure that everything centres nicely. I am not really a fan of this because it would impart movement to the coach bodies directly from the bogie, which is not really what happens with real articulated trains. In most instances, these vehicles would have one shared pivot point for both coach body ends with the bogie moving independently underneath. As a result, it needs some help with centring which is achieved using a rubber band.
LMS Ivat class 2 passes by class 37 diesel just outside Quorn & Woodhouse station on the Great Central Railway.
