Locomotive 6225 Duchess of Gloucester at Carlisle Station on the 'down'' Midday Scot on 2.8.1939. Ten of this class were streamlined but by 1948 had the streamline casing removed.

Another image going back 11 years to a visit to Barrow Hill for a celebration of all things LMS. 46233 Duchess of Sutherland was quite rightly a star of the gathering.

Well not such but a afternoon spent messing around in PS with the shot of 45690 taken yesterday. With some cloning out of the electrification,replacing the tree stump foreground with grass,change of livery and cabstripe added, you get a look of a RCTS rail tour over Shap in 1966

Jubilee class no. 45596 'Bahamas' pilots no. 46100 'Royal Scot' away from Keighley on 12th March 2022 heading the 13.35 service to Oxenhope during the Keighley & Worth Valley Railway Spring Steam Gala.

Running light engine at Keighley is London Midland and Scottish Railway Jubilee Class 45596 ‘Bahamas’. This locomotive, built in 1934 by the North British Locomotive Company, is seen during the Keighley and Worth Valley Railway steam gala on 12th March 2022.

LMS 715 leads the Westbound roadrailer, RR-261, on the Fort Wayne Line at New Brighton, PA on September 19, 1994. The LMS units were jokingly referred to as Llamas.

Courtesy of the Great Central Railway, visiting LMS 8F Class 2-8-0 No. 48305 prepares to depart Grosmont on the North Yorkshire Moors Railway on 24th September 2021. Designed by William Arthur Stanier this heavy goods engine was capable of pulling 1,000-ton trains and was one of the most successful steam locomotive designs of all time. Originally this loco operated over the London, Midland and Scottish Railway (LMS) system until 1948, when the railways were nationalised, and then operated over most off the network across Britain.

A photographic evening was held at the East Lancashire Railway baron Street works on the 16th October 2025 in conjunction with the weekends lms gala.

Can anyone identify location please. Loco shedded at Carnforth, Lancaster & Fleetwood in the 1950's-60's.

Looks like a dock in the background with yacht masts etc

6th December 2014 sees Lms Crab 13065 with a Santa Special on the East Lancashire railway in superb frosty morning conditions

BR 45321 (LMS 5321) was purchased direct from BR at the end of steam in 1968

The loco now carries the name "The Sherwood Forester"

Jinty 43724 and Jubilee 45690 Leander in a great recreation as to how a Midland shed may have looked. This actually inside the works of the East Lancashire Railway in 2024. Preservation at its finest

the loco is watered as the signals are at red at Bury Bolton Street

One of my favourite locos, I do like the "Standards". Numbered as 41294 I have a suspicion this is actually 41213 LMS built in 1948, George Ivatt designed Class 2, 2-6-2T locomotive.

LMS Princess Coronation Class 6233 'Duchess of Sutherland' running behind passing Purton in Gloucestershire with Railway Touring Company's 'The Cardiff Christmas Express'. In addition to the train being re-timed out of London Victoria by around an hour it was approximately 40 minutes late passing here having been 80 minutes down before regaining some of the time by not stopping at Kemble as scheduled. 22 November 2022

Still remarkably visible despite being 25 years old. The "X" added to the right after the Conrail split in 1999 has almost faded into oblivion
