Strathspey Railway ... Boat of Garten, Scotland ... Boat of Garten lies at a height of 220m on the west bank of the River Spey between Grantown On Spey and Aviemore. In 1971 a group of enthusiasts came together to form the Strathspey Railway dedicated to reopening the disused rail line and in 1978 succeeded in reconnecting Boat of Garten with Aviemore. A brilliant scenic steam train journey not to be missed!!!

London, Midland & Scottish “Jinty” No. 7611 on static display at Kidderminster station during Severn Valley Railway’s Step Back to the 1940s event on 8 June 2025. The loco is in the same condition as it was in France after its export by the British Expeditionary Force in 1940.

Still remarkably visible despite being 25 years old. The "X" added to the right after the Conrail split in 1999 has almost faded into oblivion

Kelvin Scottish Leyland Fleetline 1527 is seen on Milngavie Road at Kessington working a 19A journey from Milngavie across the city to Broomhouse in January 1987.

The 19A replaced the Midland Scottish 110 service between Milngavie and Glasgow and was part of a new group of routes 19/19A/19B Kelvin introduced on 31 August 1986 for their deregulation battle with Strathclyde Buses. The routes ran via Maryhill giving a 10 minute frequency from Canniesburn Toll to Baillieston.

The 19A survived as the Milngavie - Glasgow service into the 1990s becoming the 119 into First days and is now covered by the cross city 60A to Easterhouse.

The shaping of the transition between the roof and the bodysides is just as I'd hoped and the structure remains strong.

Making steam in heavy mist

With the roof on, this is the way that the front of the train looks. I'm very pleased with the way it's turned out.

A quick look inside at the mess. Er, I mean precision engineering (ahem). It's a fairly vanilla concoction of plates and clips, but arranging them to create a curved cab was quite a challenge.

LMS 720 leads TV-7 at CP DRAW in Buffalo, NY on May 16, 1998. I was using some high speed slide film, and the images are super grainy. The stuff was hit or miss as far as getting decent results.
