I'm trying to stay as updated about the revolutions in the middle east and northern africa as possible. Qadaffi's actions truly make me sick, and it makes me wish I knew a way I could help. Right now being aware is the only thing I can do. If you aren't aware of what is going on here's an article that can help motherjones.com/mojo/2011/02/whats-happening-libya-explained

As can be seen by the patination, these are petroglyphs are very old relative to others in the region. Very often it's impossible to make any sense of them, but here you can clearly see an ungulate on the right, and an ostrich on the left. But there's a lot else going on. Notice how beautifully the ostrich is depicted in motion, with grace. Wonderful.

Ayman Abdul Latif, 14, was seriously wounded playing with an unexpoded cluster bomb, outside his home in Misrata. Ayman, 14, lost both his hands in the explision which also lacerated his torso, groin and legs - leaving him permanently and severely disabled. His cousin Mohammad Abdul Latif, 9, also suffered severe shrapnel injuries to his arms, legs and chest. Both traveled in a mobile Intensive Care Unit onboard an IOM refugee boat, the Azzurra, from the beiseged city of Misrata to Benghazi, in eastern Libya. The bombs, manufactured in Spain, were fired in mortars by Col Gaddafi's forces during the battle for the city. Ayman and his cousin were injured at around 6pm, on 13/05/11, on Benghazi Street.
Overturned T-55 in Misrata. June 04, 2011. During several monthes combats between army and rebels took place in downtown Misrata, causing important damages.
During the Gadhamis festival, people from all around the country come back in the old abandoned town (UNESCO listed) , and live for few days inside the family house. The old town is really impressive to visit, as it looks like an underground city, protected from the sun by covered alleys, and very few windows in the houses. The kids are proud to wear the traditional clothes, and for the girls, the family gold and silver jewels.
Lots of Tuaregs also come from around to celebrate the town.

Anti-Gaddafi rebels react as they retreat after coming under rocket fire during clashes with pro-Gaddafi forces near Ras Lanuf March 8, 2011. Libyan government troops, tanks and warplanes attacked rebels on the western and eastern fronts on Tuesday, pressing their campaign to crush an insurrection against Muammar Gaddafi. In the east, a swathe of which is under rebel control, air strikes targetted rebel positions behind the frontline around the oil town of Ras Lanuf on the Mediterranean coast.
