The Eurofighter Typhoon is a highly agile aircraft, designed to be a supremely effective dogfighter in combat. Later production aircraft have been increasingly better equipped to undertake air-to-surface strike missions and to be compatible with an increasing number of different armaments and equipment, including Storm Shadow and Brimstone missiles. The Typhoon had its combat debut during the 2011 military intervention in Libya with the UK's Royal Air Force (RAF) and the Italian Air Force, performing aerial reconnaissance and ground-strike missions.
The aircraft is waiting on the thresold for permission to line up on the runway.
In the eighties I traveled through the Libyan desert. From Cairo to Assioet it was about 1500 km. Only desert with just a few oasis!

"Hello, my dear friends from the world of photography!
Time has flown by, and I haven't been the best at staying connected here on Flickr. Over time, I found myself more active on Facebook and Instagram.
I hope you're all doing well, and I'd love to reconnect! Here are my new Instagram links."

An alleyway in Ghadames, a traditional desert town in western Libya. Built from mud brick (a better insulator than concrete) and with covered walkways and convection towers to encourage circulation of air, the old town is more comfortable in summer than the new town, to where the population was moved in the 1980s in the name of modernisation. The old town is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is well maintained. The population of the new town move back to the old town in teh summer, where conditions are more pleasant. Isn't "Progress" great?!
