On 9 October 2002, 59102 passes Lewisham on 6V18 Hither Green - Whatley stone empties.

...but in this case iBus let it down. When I saw 10136 (LX12 DFN) had disappeared off iBus earlier on, I'd all but given up trying to find it...but a look over the shoulder and there the bugger was!

Little did I know when I was snapping this (having been trying to get one for many years!) that I would receive a phonecall a week later to say they were being withdrawn. 25114 (LX09 BGU) is one the 5 Stagecoach London Hybrid Tempos which were latterly used on the 178 and 380.

Standing in the yard at Caverswall, Foxfield Railway on the 29th August 2016 is Bagnall 0-6-0ST Lewisham.

 

Locomotive History

Lewisham was built by W G Bagnall at the Castle Works, Stafford in 1927 (works No. 2221) for the Shropshire Beet Sugar Company at Alscott, near Wellington. It worked for British Sugar until 1970 before entering preservation at Foxfield.
