When one lives in the place with a perpetual summer, it is so exciting to see some signs of fall in December around here. Although this tree I think has leaves of this color all year long.

Interesting day. Beautiful sunrise and later giant flakes of wet snow. This evening I visited the lovely people behind Migrant Info Point and took advantage of their wonderful view for a minute. Very helpful folks who help people like me transition into Polish life and are skilled in all of the necessary forms, etc.. More importantly they are understanding. Highly recommended for people living here from abroad.

In the process of downloading photos from a couple of recent outings, I discovered a set of photos from last October that I never got around to downloading. I found a few keepers, including a red-bellied woodpecker that appears to be levitating.

North Staffs Junction is seeing some action. 70812 is heading south with the 0937 Mountsorrel to Carlisle stones whilst 221132 is heading in the opposite direction with the 0627 Plymouth to Edinburgh. In the distance David Blaine can be seen rehearsing for his next stunt. His new challenge will be a three week continuous train spotting event committing all locos , wagons and coach numbers to memory whilst levitating two feet above the ground.
It takes a lot of spiritual energy to achieve a lift like this.

Levitation (from Latin levitas "lightness") is the process by which an object is held aloft, without mechanical support, in a stable position.
Not sure what type of caterpillar this is, but it appeared to be hanging in mid-air. It was depending on a thin strand of silk(?)

Lake Bonney
Australia
This shot was taken on the western shores of Lake Bonney where there were some strange logs appearing to 'float' on water - supported by a stump that was hidden with most views. I did a field video regarding some of the techinical aspects to taking the shot.
