It was a bit windy today, so he decided that levitating would be safest at a lower altitude.

The Levitated Mass is a new Art Installation at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art Complex on Wilshire at Fairfax. Recently the Levitated Mass was transportated for installation from its quarry in Riverside California to its new home behind the former May Co Wilshire Department Store, now the Los Angeles County Museum of Art West Building---the two worlds.

In this stage of development, she has been honing her hover sense. Unfortunatly, this ability will be lost for the most part after her second month.

I chose this photo because of the mood. I used leading lines to draw the viewers eyes toward the subject. I had to get good lighting and then edit it in photo pea to make it look like they are levitating.

For the Get Pushed group.

I received a challenge from MattLincoln who agreed to do a "panorama" type shot if I did a "levitation". Well, it was harder than I thought in the end as I struggled to find enough time (yet again). I settled on a reasonably quick setup outside to satisfy the Push as best as I could. Thanks Ronan for climbing up the ladder and balancing with one foot in the air! The rest, of course, was up to me to process in Photoshop. It was cold, wet and miserable today so my options were limited. I hope to be able to revisit this type of shot again over summer when the weather is a bit better and I can get around outside to a few more locations.

My first attempt at levitation photos

a week after flying back from mexico, and three weeks after chilling on the island of caye caulker, i'm now on the island of ireland. as it's so much closer to home than the caribbean i was expecting grey clouds, however i've been pleasantly surprised by the blueness of the sky. having said that i'm still sceptical of a boast i read on a sign today which claimed that because of "the warming oceanic influence of the gulf stream the climate is, in some respect, almost subtropical". yup, sure... almost.
