The Levitation Psych Fest lineup for this year is amazing! You should really check it out if you are a fan of this music! Brian Wilson and Super Furry Animals are who I am looking forward to the most!
I saw this man dancing at the beginning of Austin Psych Fest/Levitation last year. I wanted to add that I found this man quite beautiful and was quite entranced by him. He had that je ne sais quoi, that unbearable lightness of being that reminds us all of why we carry on existing relentlessly even when it's painful.
I walked over to him on the third day of the festival (this was taken on the first) and showed him this photo. There was a language barrier but I tried to explain that for a man he was very beautiful and shouldn't be embarrassed by it. Anyway, I have a better way with photos than words sometimes.

This other creative idea is also a Photoshop montage, made on a background created with the photograph of a Christmas ball and another photograph taken of this urban artist, who simulated levitating above the ground of the Plaza Mayor in Palma de Mallorca, holding on to a bamboo cane.

Some respite from the DiY with an early evening dog walk and camera.
At nearly 9 yrs of age Pep is still full of youthful enthusiasm. She is fitter than she has ever been but still can't catch a squidger!
I was trying out the focus tracking on the Z7 and it missed a beat here. Somehow it's got her tail! I have one where it's picked up her eye brilliantly but it's just not as dynamic as this....

This one’s from a coastal hike from Budleigh Salterton to Ladram Bay, with the idyllic cove being our picnic spot. It’s quite a hike for our two boys but with enough snacks they mastered the distance fine (there and back again). The pebble beach is usually pretty busy as there is a holiday park behind the cliffs but on that day we had the entire location almost to ourselves. I tried quite a few angles and exposures during our break but I like this one most as it looks like the boys are levitating!
For those interested, I made a video of the entire walk: youtu.be/uHLqbUBes5E

Downy Woodpecker
"Downy Woodpeckers also take time each day to preen their feathers and pay attention for predators and other dangers. When they can, they spend time excavating cavities which can be used as nighttime roosting shelters or, come spring, as a nest. They dig out most of the holes they’ll need for winter in fall but are prepared to make new ones whenever storms knock down their roost tree or a more aggressive animal takes over their cavity. They virtually always nest in trees, but sometimes use bird houses as a nighttime roost in winter."

. . . no, not an old English pub name, like The Winking Frog or similar, but a real-life, levitating, slimy amphibean. I'm only told, its a toad; it mightn't be, you see, it could be a frog, but apparently it's a one-of-a-kind toad, and unique to Thailand, in the central plains.
I photographed this one just above my head in temple grounds whilst in Ayutthaya yesterday. (David Blaine, look out!)
By the way - - this is real, not photoshopped (other than cropped and framed).
I intend to tell more about this image in tomorrow's post. Y'all come back now, y'hear?
