Day 219

My son frightening us as he floats around the house on Halloween night. If you have an iPhone, download the new photo sharing app called "Momentage". Banana flower ... about half grown. The ripe bananas are finger sized and very sweet.

not sure whether to add this to 52 weeks, 'cause i took it the same day as the 3/52 one. meh.

this was a bitch to edit! still not 100% satisfied but it'll do for now.

also, a lot of people on instagram thought that this was taken as i was falling into the river. el oh el. nope, this is just a regular levitation photo, and i was sitting on a stool.

Strange things happen in the desert...

Sometimes all that’s needed is some washed up seaweed and an astronaut figure. 👌🌌

I had a tons of ideas for the Levitation theme, but it turns out it’s harder to do as I thought. Balancing on wobbly stools and striking a pose is not as easy as I had envisioned it. So I had to settle with a jump shot, which was quite fun to do, and got me some sunday morning exercise.

My son and daughter having a bit of fun in the yellow observation room of the Guthrie Theater in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The Mississippi and Stone arch bridge are in the background.

My daughter Brooke wanted to try this today. She is standing on a stool and we had about 6 balloons. There are about 5 layers here with the balloons masked through each to make it look like one shot - the stool is masked out too - could of been better but a first effort.

woahhhhh havent been on here in forever. Hopefully I'll use it more often. I NEED TO LEARN HOW TO ADD PRETTY FILTERS TO MY LAME PHOTOSHOP.

This is one of the photo graphs I took for my recent as-level photography exam, any comments would be great :)

I am a huge fan of surreal and dreamlike photographs (check out: "bubble" pictures of Melvin Solokolsky: paris 1963). So I thought it would be cool to do some levitation shots myself for a change. My new garden is totally zen, so I figured this would be the perfect scenery for a dreamy levitation pic.

Hope you like it!

I was not interested in doing the cliche levitation shot this week. I have seen some really cool ones here and there, but it is a lot of editing to get it right.

This was much easier and fast! :) Easy and Fast FTW! haha

Levitation Versuch

Az első ilyen jellegű próbálkozásom.

Sokkal nehezebb kivitelezni mint gondoltam!!! :)

So I thought, well these levitation photos on flickr look cool, got to try it myself. Grabbing all my gear and a huge wooden ladder I hiked to the nearest pond. The water was ice cold and the ladder sank deeper in the brown mud than I thought.

Retouching in Photoshop later on, I noticed that I liked the actual photo without levitation more. I really like how even though the ladder is crooked, I look peaceful.

What do you think?

The first try of levitation with Stephie. I also used the Sigma 35mm f1.4 Art. I don't know if I should keep this lense.

I wanted to do something different from my original style.

This is the first attempt at a floating / levitation picture! A late afternoon project :) just messing around in garden, and just grabbing the equipment that was laying around!

hoping to get some response and criticism! This way it will be better next time around: D

Happy

shooting :)

Behind the scenes of spirit levitation in comments below

For the black dress photo (body on the ground), we only used the lightbox above them. No strobes behind them on the floor. No chairs. This BTS photo was after the white dress pic.

Alienbees B800 in 60"x12" softbox with grid above body. Lights triggered with RadioPopper JRX.

When the white photo was taken, we added 2 canon speedlights in the back corners for rim light. These were also triggered with RadioPoppers.
