Caught this young man trying out a jump pad at a friends farm.

I like the floating effect of his leap.

So I lasted almost one month without a break but once I missed two I got out of the loop and missed a week. I just couldn't get myself motivated or get any ideas. But today I learned to levitate so in honor, I'm starting back up on my 365... this picture makes me wish I had a swing.

Desperate for changing, starving for truth

I'm closer to where I started chasing after you

I'm falling even more in love with you

Letting go of all I've held onto

I'm standing here until you make me move

I'm hanging by a moment here with you

Forgetting all I'm lacking

Completely incomplete

I'll take your invitation

You take all of me now...

Ah, the"old levitation shot" certainly not original but I've been wanting to try one. Couple of things I'd do over - take the rim light away as I find it doesn't help the "believability" of the shot, should have just stayed with the natural light. Also, probably should of raised the camera up enough so I don't see the underside of me. In reality my loose shorts would be hanging down more. Okay, now that I've pointed out a few glaring errors...

Anyway, having fun with this series and learning stuff along the way.

Levitating Plane-Train is a futuristic train design.

This is my first time playing around with this. It was really more of a fun experiment, and I wanted to do something simple for my first time.

Autumn/Fall is one of my favorite seasons; leaves go from green to a multitude of yellows, oranges, and browns, everything cools off and the air starts smelling crisp. Halloween happens and things just feel different---but right.

So I present this photo to you flickr, as my [for real], "in honor of" photo for Autumn. :)

The wind was still howling on the dunes when I arrived rearranging the ripples constantly.

ah this was a quick edit, I didn't really make it to look perfect (I still see flaws) but I'm quite happy with the result.

maybe it's because the picture gives the feeling I want.

I was so tired and exhausted last night after having fun and hanging out with my cousins and friends for the whole day, and I just sat down here quietly at night, and I just felt like to do some levitation, i wanted to just float and sleep like that. I walked slowly to take everything, set up everything, took out my dress and started shooting, really slowly.

there's another 1 in the comment.

but it doesn't suit this title, I didn't intent to do that photo initially,

but then when i was viewing all the photos i had taken, i instantly fell in love with that shot because it gave me the feeling of being helpless, falling, and no one is there. that was a super quick edit, anyway.

oh and I want to say that brooke shaden must have inspired me somewhere in these photos. she's one of the best artists in doing levitation in flickr, i dare say. and she's so willing so share many of her experience and thoughts in her blog. i fell in love with her conceptual works lately. look at this album, i love every single photo in this album, she's incredible. thanks for being so inspiring! :)

love,

Gliding along (in this case, literally) on its dedicated test track, JR Central's Improved L0 Series Maglev heads into the tunnel to complete another high-speed pass.

Situated near the base of the Japanese Alps near Kofu is Fuefuki, which offers the most scenic viewpoint possible for Japan's ongoing, most expensive infrastructure project, the Chuo Shinkansen. At a cost of roughly $82 Billion, the maglev line will connect Shinagawa (Tokyo) and Nagoya, with an extension to Nara and Osaka at speeds up to 505km/h (314mph for countries starting with U). This will allow a transit time of 40 minutes between Tokyo and Nagoya, and 67 minutes to Osaka. JR Central and the Japanese government's goal is to have this completed by "2037".

Currently the active section of the Chuo Shinkansen is in use for test runs but will be incorporated into the future route. The operating schedule can be found on their website, and train frequency can vary from every 10 minutes to 1 hour. On the Fuefuki side, the trains move slow as they stop and change direction here. However, at the Yamanashi Maglev Exhibition Center, visitors can witness the L0 pass at top speed. It is seriously neat to see the future of Japanese mass transit in action!

Sorry for the poor quality of the shot, but birds were so lovely! And I don't know the name of it - could somebody help me?

And the comments from this on instagram were actually hilarious. Contrary to popular belief, that dark line under her dress is not one of her legs, a fake leg, someone's arms, a stool, or anything else. It's just the other side of her dress falling down her side.

This shot came out pretty interesting as far as depth of field goes! It almost looks like that the flower is just levitating there. I know this is a simple shot but I thought it was ok.

just wanted to see what else might be fun to levitate around here ;)) I'll stop now lol ....

C-FGHQ, a Tapanee Levitation 4, climbing out from runway 33 at Toronto Buttonville Municipal Airport in Markham, Ontario.

The amateur-built four-seat STOL aircraft was designed by Michel Lequin of Tapanee Aviation Inc. of Mont-Saint-Michel, Quebec.

Its 180-horsepower Lycoming enables the aircraft to travel 575 statute miles / 500 nautical miles while cruising at 115 mph / 100 knots.

Its stall speed is 38 mph / 33 knots.

At its maximum take-off weight (2,500 pounds), the aircraft requires only 400 feet to get airborne without wind. Its landing distance is 300 feet.

This example is one of only four in existence.

Let me address several issues here.

As I follow you guys and look at your images I noticed that several of you have become quite adept at talking about things that are not even part of the picture. I will adopt this technique to a certain extent for this image.

First, I previously mentioned that I would not leave the house any longer because of all the weird goings on outside. I have changed my mind on this (getting in touch with my inner woman was helpful in this regard) to follow my quest of getting a shot of a Blue Jay in flight. Do you see a Blue Jay in this image? No, of course not, that's what I mean about talking about things that are not present in the image. I have come close, but either the image is grossly out of focus or part of the Blue Jay is not in the image and I refuse to post images that advertise my shortcomings as a photographer. As usual, though, other opportunities arose and I took advantage of them.

This, and finally we are getting to this image, is one of those opportunites. It is a prime example of another species, Dark-eyed Junco, having adopted the Levitation technique previously demonstrated. Quite clearly, he's not using his wings in his upward progression. The other thing about this image is - thanks to the settings on my camera which were set with the mindset of capturing a Blue Jay in flight - the ISO being at 8000. That's a first for me and actually I am pretty happy with the result.

And finally, thanks to the constant exposure to Levitation, I have become desensitized (to borrow a term from the guys in white coats) to a certain extent and am not quite as concerned about this activity any longer.

Dark-eyed Juncos, I have always considered them to be a dressed up version of a Sparrow, ready to go out to some fancy dinner party. Me, I am more of a "come as you are" kind of a guy ...
