(Corymbia citriodora). The essential oil of the lemon-scented gum mainly consists of citronellal (80%). Unrefined oil from the lemon eucalyptus tree is used in perfumery, and a refined form of this oil is used in insect repellents, especially against mosquitoes. (Source: Wikipedia)

I had a day off on Friday and was looking for some weather-independent photo opportunities -- and found this fantastic staircase that looks like a peeled lemon!
Hope you all had a great weekend! Mine included too much wine, two Christmas parties, too much wine, shopping for Christmas presents - and really way too much wine!
MY FIRST FRONTPAGE - I can't believe it!!! Thank you all so, so much!
make lemon and honey tea. Well it's exactly my mum did. I've been sick so I abandoned work/study and fled to my mum's house, and when I woke up this morning her kitchen was half covered in lemons... She'd been going nuts with the lemon and honey drinks, and stripped half the lemons off our tree (luckily we have a giant one). On the plus side I feel much better, and I think she enjoys it when I act like a needy kid once in a while.
First collage. It was so fun I think I might do more

If life deals you lemons then make lemonade, or, slice one up and give it some strobism :)

Cake.... (a long story - shortened)
I had an OLD orange cake mix, which I baked in early Dec. It was so nasty, it tasted like baby aspirins..... gag, gag, gag.... The store didn't have any orange mixes, so we had a lemon cake instead.
Every Australian backyard deserves a lemon tree and these specimens are great ones, groaning under the weight of healthy fruit.
Lemon verbena is such a delectable plant. Brush past in and you release the most exquisite lemon fragrance. After its delicate pale lilac flowers had finished this year, I just left the stems untouched. This stem got a touch of frost which curled the leaves up in a delightful way resembling an antique hat stand.
Meyer lemons off our tree. Meyers are not true lemons, but rather lemon/orange crosses, making them sweeter and less acidic than a true lemon. I find that their flavor and aroma has a flowery quality to it. These quickly became lemonade, which I am now drinking.

My Mom's lemon tree at my parents' house in Paradise, California froze out once in the 80's. Amazingly enough, it came back a couple years later, and it is still pumping out lemons every year in its dark nook beneath the deck. My Mom used to make delicious lemon meringue pies using the lemons from this tree. Since she's been gone, the lemons just fall to the ground neglected... like everything else around the house.
Damn, going back home is depressing... :(
After the kiwi with a white background, I tried the lemon with a black background.
I gonna squeeze it now to make a juice full of vitamines...
