I really like this lily's fresh yellow colour. It would look lovely on my kitchen table, but I didn't think the park's gardener would like my idea. )0:
Thanks a million for stopping by and for leaving me a comment! Have a wonderful day!

Lemon flower and buds.
If you look closely at the flower you can see the tiny lemon that will eventually grow into a large lemon.
Have a good one
I had the day off on Friday and felt like baking something so I tried baking this lemon loaf. Actually I baked two. The first one was a complete flop. Arggh! This annoyed me but I didn't give up. I hauled every baking ingredient back out that I had just put away and every dish and utensil that I had just finished washing and put away. I was determined to get it right, and this time to NOT forget to add the baking powder - lol - at least that is what I am guessing that happened as the first loaf didn't rise in the middle. Oops! So this was my second attempt and I must say it tasted pretty good as I am not an overly lemony-lover of desserts as I find them too tart but it was the sweet glaze that did it for me and made it soooo much better than I had expected.
Rita actually grows both in her backyard...the lemons look like limes before they turn yellow and the limes look like lemons before they turn green!! :))

Wishing all my Flickr friends a wonderful 2009. This Amaryllis keeps putting out new blooms ... Happy New Year!
On my work bench behind the furnace in the basement I have found a zen practice of still life photography.
Using work lights, plastic boxes as filters, and paining the image during it's 8 second exposure with a flashlight.
.... and then of course came the lemonade part of the experience.
Arranging the leaves, branches, and fruit was quite frustrating.
I took that very aspect of difficulty and frustration and
channeled it into an intentional interaction with the flora.
They have to pretty much be all be in one plane to focus properly and their spacial arrangement must be composed aesthetically.
The light has to wash across them all evenly as well.
All the while like children they are jostling and moving about.
So I changed my attitude and transformed the whole drawn out experience into a ZEN meditation..... Nothing else matters during my time calmly concentrating on the steps needed to get the right shot....
And in the process I have managed to bring that same attitude to the frustrations I meet in real life... (sometimes it works, and .....
INGREDIENTS:
Crust
1 box Betty Crocker® SuperMoist® yellow cake mix
1/2 cup butter or margarine, softened
1 teaspoon grated lemon peel
Filling
2 packages (8 oz each) cream cheese, softened
3/4 cup sugar
3 containers (3.5 oz each) lemon pudding (from 4-pack container)
1/2 cup sour cream
3 eggs
2 cups frozen (thawed) whipped topping
DIRECTIONS:
1. Heat oven to 300°F. Spray bottom and side of 10-inch springform pan with baking spray with flour. Wrap foil around outside of pan to catch drips. Reserve 1/4 cup of the cake mix; set aside. In large bowl, beat remaining cake mix, butter and lemon peel with electric mixer on low speed until crumbly. Press in bottom and 1 1/2 inches up side of pan.
2. In same large bowl, beat reserved cake mix, the cream cheese, sugar, pudding and sour cream on medium speed until smooth and creamy. Beat in eggs, one at a time, until mixed. Pour over crust.
3. Bake 1 hour 20 minutes to 1 hour 35 minutes or until edges are set but center of cheesecake jiggles slightly when moved. Turn oven off; open oven door at least 4 inches. Leave cheesecake in oven 30 minutes longer.
4. Remove cheesecake from oven; place on cooling rack. Without releasing side of pan, run knife around edge of pan to loosen cheesecake. Cool in pan on cooling rack 30 minutes. Cover loosely; refrigerate 4 hours or overnight. Remove side of pan before serving. Pipe or spoon whipped topping around outside edge of cheesecake. Store in refrigerator.
High Altitude (3500-6500 ft): Heat oven to 325°F.
"Could you be?
A little less sour, we're rotting by the hour
And my heart's rotten too
In every film I watch, I'm on the side of the bad guy
So turn around and show me that I'm better
Some people got an apple
Some people got a tangerine
Looking around and all I see is people happy with what they're given
Life is pretty sweet, I'm told
I guess I'm just shit outta luck growing a lemon tree
I'm gonna burn it down
And grow me something better..."

Lemon Trees, the winter edition, is a photogenic place where you can hang out with family and friends and take pics. There are several winter activities to enjoy such as ice skating, christmas ball riding, sleigh riding, dancing and more. Winter magic!
following many failed attempts with timing my wife had a go, "don't know what the problem is, all you have to do is drop a lemon and push a button" 😑
Il limone è protagonista a Procida, prorompente, enorme, onnipresente.
Ho scelto uno malandato , ma era l' ultimo dell' anno e ...l' ho incorniciato

In fact it's the lemon grass of 2019 which hibernated in the basement and has only recently returned outdoors. It still looks a bit tattered but Fynn is pleased to have it back. Happy Tongue Tuesday ! :)

Thank you to Brendaamb and to Liina for letting me know about Explore!!
I am back to photographing this Amaryllis again. There is still one bud to open, so it will last for awhile longer. I've had such fun with this Amaryllis. This is the third stalk of flowers it has graced me with. I'm planning to take extra good care of it to ensure that it will bloom next year as well.
