Porco Rosso is one of my favourite Miyazaki-films of all time, and the magnificent plane desings aren`t a small contributor to that opinion. The iconic red Savoia has been a headache for builders for quite a while, mostly because the fuselage is a weirdly shaped cylinder for the most part, and we all know how fun of a shape that is to re-create in Lego...

The semi-new 1x2 curved slopes were a perfect fit for the job in my opinion, and they give a pretty consistent look to the body of the plane.

Details that I was able to cram into the model include:

-aiming periscope (also used as a support for the wings, oops)

-joystick

-the Crimson Pig himself

-machine gun holes at the front

After revealing to the twins that they were wizards, Mr. Copperbottom had been forced to stay at the Honeycutts’ home until far after midnight. The twins and their, still very confused, mother had become a bubbling well of questions about the wizarding world. He tried to answer each question as thoroughly as possible and might have had the chance to leave after tea, if Mr. Honeycutt hadn’t come home early, starting the chain of questions and explanations anew. After promising a dozen times to come back soon and leaving an address for the them to send an owl to (a comment that started another series of questions about communication in the wizarding world), Mr. Copperbottom was finally released and visibly exhausted made his way to the garden gate, where he disappears with yet another plopping noise. The twins stayed up late that night, not wanting to sleep, as they feared it could only have been a dream and they’d wake up as ordinary children again. But in the morning there were still two big letters lying on the kitchen table and the white rabbit which Mr. Copperbottom had summoned to prove his magic to Mr. Honeycutt was nibbling on a bunch of carrots on the countertop.

Two weeks passed and the twins spent every waking minute reading the letters from Hogwarts over and over again, until the parchment became dangerously fragile, so their mother took it away. Of course, by then, they already knew the letters by heart and imagined what the wonderful items on the material list could be and where in the world they could buy them. Dragon skin gloves, a wand and many other things certainly didn’t sound like they were sold in a supermarket. The answer came in form of Mr. Copperbottom, who appeared one late July morning to take them to Diagon Alley, a magical shopping street in the heart of London. He led the family to an old pub, for which the word shady would have been a compliment. At that point Mrs. Honeycutt seriously worried, whether they’d just fallen for a very elaborate prank. Inside dozens of witches and wizards were sitting around small tables with the weirdest foods and drinks in front of them. The family proceeded to an old cobblestone wall, which promptly gave way to the most amazing thing the twins had ever laid eyes on. Diagon Alley was truly a place of wonder, filled with every weird item one could imagine. There were shops for enchanted clothing, potions and ingredients, wands, Quidditch supplies (whatever that was), spell books and candy that smelled of four flavors at once. And so began the best shopping tour of all time. Soon, their mother’s pockets were empty and the twins were laden with their school gear, including a cauldron, quills, books and their school uniforms. Probably the most important new acquires were their wands, necessary for casting spells of all forms. As a matter of precaution, they were immediately taken away by their mother to be safely stored until their departure for Hogwarts, since she knew all too well about her children’s talent for destruction, even without any magic catalyst. Now, there was only one item left on the list and it was the one the twins were most excited for, a magic pet! Even before Mr. Copperbottom could point it out, Adrian had found the closet pet shop, appropriately called The Wicked Menagerie. In front of it, dozens of large and small cages were stacked up and inside them were the weirdest animals the twins had ever seen. While some of them barely fit into their cages, stretching their claws out between the bars, other cages seemed to be empty and only emitted an ominous hissing sound. Inside birds were tweeting, dogs barking, lizards clapped their tails against their cages and on the roof beams owls were melodically shu-hoo-ing. „I bet I can find the coolest animal of all!“ Adrian said. „You wish!“ Abby returned in a more than competitive spirit and they both sprinted into the labyrinth of cages and terrariums. Adrian sprinted along the cages. There were pink spotted Dalmatians, translucent birds, six legged hamsters and even something that looked like a cat with feathers. Suddenly he tripped over something that felt like an oversized garden hose. He fell flat on his face. As he looked up, he saw that there were parts of this garden hose all over the floor and they were… moving? Now, this was cool!

Mr. Copperbottom had just talked to Mrs. Honeycutt and reassured her that all of the animals sold here were absolutely harmless and she should not worry about her children. Apparently she wasn’t worried about them and only voiced her concerns about the safety of the shop itself. Just as he started wondering about what she could mean by that, a giant tropical snake broke from the first floor window, winding itself around the building, its emerald scales shimmering in the sunlight. Relaxingly dangling on one arm from its body was Adrian Honeycutt, grinning at his sister from ear to ear. „Look, Abby, I made a new friend!“

The water splashed gently against the side of the boat, as it slowly crossed the lake, steered by an invisible force. With the view still obscured by trees, the twins and Liam turned their eyes to the surface of the water. It was a starry, windstill night and so the water was twinkling with the reflection of a thousand stars and a shiny full moon. Small fireflies were darting across the lake and added to the spectacle of lights. The scene was so serene that for a moment Abby feared, the whole thing might be a dream after all. The next thing however, occupied her thoughts entirely. The boats emerged from the small delta where they had started onto the bigger part of the lake and there it was: Hogwarts. Towering high over the lake was a castle with a hundred spires and at least a thousand illuminated windows. All of the kids gasped in unison and Hagrid chuckled, when he saw their excited, open mouthed faces. „Adrian, look! Isn’t that amazing?“ Abby rejoiced, grabbing her brother by the shoulder. But Adrian wasn’t looking at the castle at all, he was leaning over the side of the boat, toying with what looked like a tree branch swimming in the water. But as she watched him, she saw that it wasn’t a tree branch at all. It was… moving. Next thing she knew, Adrian had grabbed onto the thing and his feet were lifted off the boat into the air. Abby gasped and the boats came to a halt, as Hagrid raised his hand. Abby looked around for her brother. „Up here, Abby!“ She looked up. Several meters above them, Adrian, with a big smile on his face, was hanging on to a red column, which Abby now identified as the suction cup covered tentacles of a giant squid. “Nothing to worry about.” Hagrid called as some of the kids screamed in surprise. “He’s just been a bit lonely over the holidays.” And in fact Adrian didn’t seem to be in danger. His face still beaming, he tickled the tentacle and earned a gentle ruffle of his hair as a reward. „Stop, that tickles!“ he laughed, still not stopping either. Abby and Liam watched, half amused, half scared, as Hagrid’s boat came over to them. „Alright, let’s get you back into the boat.“ Hagrid said and reached out for Adrian. The squid, understanding him apparently, lowered his tentacle until Adrian found himself safely in Hagrid’s arms and then back in their boat. „He seems to like you.“ Hagrid chucked, apparently not at all phased by the fact that Adrian could have fallen into the lake and potentially drowned and he gave the squid a gentle pat on the tentacle, before it disappeared into the water again. Back in the boat Adrian wat greeted enthusiastically by Abby and Liam. „That was the coolest thing ever!“ Liam exclaimed, looking at him with awe. „I know right!“ Adrian smirked. Then he tilted his head slightly to look beyond their gleaming faces, frowned for a second and added “Ah, well, I guess the castle is alright, too.” The whole boat broke out in laughter and they continued their journey towards their new magical home.

Merry Christmas everyone! I had this little vignette prepared for almost a year (or even longer even) and thought, what better day for a Harry Potter build to be uploaded than Christmas day? I hope you all enjoy the holidays with your loved ones, eat a lot of good food and get some cool presents.

So yeah, it's been awhile since I have posted a build, and that is because I have been wrapped up with improving my renders. Despite how great and simple Bluerender is, the default settings leave a lot out that I wanted in my builds. This is what I have so far, based off some settings that a builder shared on EuroBricks, then edited by myself. I would enjoy hearing any ideas to make it look better! Thanks for looking!

A Lego version of the SDF-1 Macross, as featured in the 1984 film "Super Dimension Fortress Macross: Do you remember love?"

This spacecraft was a tricky build due to its ability to transform between two modes, that either made it into a long, bulky ship, or a 1200 meter tall megarobot.

The transformation process begins by splitting the front of the craft into sections, that form the two main cannons. Then the middle superstructure spins 180 degrees around a central pole, and locks into place. Finally the thrusters and launch bays can be opened and positioned in order to make the arms and legs of the robot mode. I found this video on YouTube showing the full process: www.youtube.com/watch?v=uwe2E2K2vk8

The stand also has some features. I made two switchable mounts for the different modes to rest on.

A Neo Fabuland Fire Station

This build is part of a larger display I built in 2025, revisiting and expanding on the concept of Neo Fabuland—a reinterpretation of the classic Fabuland aesthetic, much like how Neo-Classic Space draws inspiration from the original Classic Space theme. If you’re curious, you can read more about the goals of the project here.

All six builds for this display are now complete, but so far I have only posted three sections, Padbrook Town, Maximillian’s Watermill and Hilltop Station, and this is the fourth one I completed.

This build is not inspired by an existing Fabuland set. It features a fire station building with observation tour, a fire engine and rescue in progress.

This build is the second part of a mini-series I have started on my account. The first part was released as part of an Imperial Builders Division collab and I thought it would be fun to add some more builds to the series. Story will come out soon, hopefully. Enjoy!

A second cinematic shot from my vignette for mission 1.1 of the 253rd Elite Legion.

Well ... Another year and another questionable LEGO build year....

This year was particularly different in that I started SO late for Brickworld building - usually it starts with Drones in Jan and dives right into collabs, but this year with work and things it just wasn't clicking and I really didn't start till late April - ... but what a start ...

Thank you to Nick Brick for the kick start - his idea of the 'Replica Collab' was so idioticlly fun that it was what I needed to start <3

The original build - not pictured here - was the 3x2 foot Deployable Shield that blocks door in the game Rainbow Six Siege. The idea of building a giant thing to block the entry way to GamerLUG table was just so stupidly funny.... Even more silliness was to basically build the giant box for the sole purpose to hide t-shirts to hand out - much like the Rook's in game ability... and it was just so much fun that we kept snowballing with one of the most fun guns I've built - the P90 and the FMG9, and an additional gadget to finish off Alec's Jager loadout.

It's rare that I build at life size scale, so this was a definitely weird that I didn't just build one thing, but built 7 life size replicas (including Summer's laser blasters for KC Lab's full size Rick and Morty Garage monstrosity).

Throw in a Warthog, Rex-Zilla, a trophy scale Fallout Shelter and a army of baby mech's with Alec it actually turned out to be a pretty great Brickworld showing for me, despite the crunched time...

And what a Brickworld! Pre-Brickworld was great with EscapeLUG hitting up Micah, Alec, and JohnK's LEGOtories and escaping all but one room.... Sickworld was also amazing, despite almost causing a significant portion of the AFOL population to almost die from Flu or worse.... but it was still an amazing time - SimonGames stands out as a particular bright spot - being able to see OrphanLUG, GamerLUG, RebelLUG and InnovaLUG do some 'friendly' Competition...

The fast builds continued well into the summer - with a super fun collab with Alec and Micah for the Summer Joust - one of these days I'll do castle - and continued with the inspiration to do a Sci-Fi contest based on this amazing contest: Space JAM! ... but even before that I had a concept I've been dying to get done ... GRID WARS contest...

All of this was pretty much between April-Aug ... and then my Achilles Heel: SHIPtember ... which just crushed me and I couldn't actually hit the 100 stud or produce something worthwhile ... which has dragged my extended drought for the rest of the year....

.... but 2019 is off to a decent start. Thanks again to Alec for letting me play at his place, there's a start of a new collab for BW.... there's SIMON CON in Toronto in August ... and I already refurb'd rebuilt my Minifig Fallout Shelter for show ....

Here's hoping for a better year! And thanks for everyone in the community that makes this place so special.

In the little cottage of Autumberry, on the right hand side of Saint Michael’s chapel, just over the hill, lived the Honeycutts. Never had something extraordinary happened to the Honeycutts, despite maybe the birth of the twins Abigale and Adrian. Mr. and Mrs. Honeycutt loved their children more than anything and were sure they would become something special one day. And as if the future couldn’t wait to prove it, that day came on an early July morning, not long after the twins had turned eleven years old. Mrs. Honeycutt had just put breakfast on the table, after Mr. Honeycutt had left in a hurry after a sudden call from his boss. It was a lucky coincidence that no newspaper had come that day, otherwise he surely wouldn’t have been as quick to leave the house. Just as Mrs. Honeycutt started wondering what was taking the postman so long, a sound reminiscent of a soap bubble popping could be heard from the garden, immediately followed by the ring of the doorbell.

Abigale Honeycutt turned around. Usually there were no visitors that early. Curiously she looked at the door. Who could it be? Her father had complained about the missing newspaper earlier, so this visitor had to be the postman, Abby thought and curiously looked at the door. In the doorway stood a friendly looking, yet rather oddly dressed man. He wore a melon top hat, but unlike the suit which normally went with it, he had combined it with a long orange and brown robe, which fell down to his ankles. Weird looking symbols were woven into the fabric and it seemed like some of the patterns were even moving. In his hands he held two big letters, each with a big red wax crest on them. What a peculiar postman, Abby thought.

„Good morning, Mrs. Honeycutt.“ The man said in a cheerful chime. „I am Alfred Copperbottom, from the education officer of the Ministry of Magic. I have the honor to deliver two letters to young Mr. Adrian and Mr. Abigale Honeycutt. They have both been accepted into the Hogwarts School of Wizardry and Witchcraft.“ Mrs. Honeycutt looked at him in utter confusion. „I know, this might be a bit surprising to you and it is my duty to introduce you and your children into the magical as smoothly as possible.“, he continued. Mrs. Honeycutt looked even more perplexed. „Wait, wait, wait… what in heavens name are you talking about?“, she interrupted his speech. He looked at her with a warm and welcoming smile. „Your children are wizards!“

What was he talking about? Wizards, magic and even a school for it? „Didn’t you ever notice anything strange about your children? Anything they did or that happened, that wasn’t normal? That seemed unexplainable?“ he asked. Mrs. Honeycutt still looked puzzled, but Abby started thinking. She had always considered herself and her brother to be absolutely ordinary children. Sure, sometimes there were weird coincidences. Just this morning, her mother had tried to serve them fried eggs. Abby preferred the yellow part, while her brother only liked the egg white. And while their mother insisted they both ate a whole egg, the eggs themselves absolutely refused to stay together and always separated before landing on their plate. And the drawer with the cookies also sometimes unlocked itself, when the two of them craved a late night snack. But that was normal, right? Her mother must have thought the same thing and after she had overcome her initial shock, she started questioning Mr. Copperbottom about the the magical world and about his state of mind, which she apparently had serious doubts in. It was only when he commanded an apple from the fruit basket right into his hand with a flick of his wand, that she finally believed him. The twin’s excited gasps made the radio turn on and the tea bubble in their cups and now it was clear; They were wizards and they were going to Hogwarts.

I hope you enjoy this new little story set in the Harry Potter universe. I’ve always been a big fan of the Harry Potter franchise and some of most fond Lego memories stem from playing with the first Harry Potter sets. Recently, I’ve been getting back into it and now, the new Harry Potter sets present the perfect opportunity for me to tell my own little tale in this magical world. This vignette is planned to be the first part in a little series, following Abigale „Abby“ Honeycutt and her brother Adrian, as they attend the magical school of Hogwarts. I will try to pack as many details into these builds as possible and show some of the parts of the magical world, that weren’t as prominently featured in the books and films. I hope you are as excited as I am for this.

Round 2: Internet

This Bricklink Designer Program Series 9 submission is a combination of the Dragon Attack and The Griffin. Although the griffin is slightly smaller than my black dragon, they look cool together and the fusion of the two sets creates an epic battle scene. You can support my submissions by voting and commenting:

My passion for fantasy creatures inspired me to design both a brick-built griffin and a black dragon for the Bricklink Designer Program. While the idea of the griffin was born from the new Griffin Faction, and the dragon from my love for dark fantasy, neither is based on an existing character. For both, I studied various artwork and existing Lego builds for inspiration, but ultimately created something entirely new and unique for each. My intent was to create poseable animals instead of a static statues and also added two wizards to the set for more playability options.

My very first space station MOC. I had a lot of purple curved panels lying around and started experimenting. Grape Space Station was born!

These shots will give you a better view of the build. (less artistic)

Probably still a bit small, but a fun little build as I wait for parts

The LL-962 “Arrow" Long Range Tactical Starfighter is the newest addition to the Federation’s defensive arsenal and is hopped to be the future backbone of the Nova Team Fleet. As a long range tactical star fighter she is designed to be viable in just about any theater of combat throughout the galaxy with her FTL (Faster Than Light) drive. The Arrow sports twin powerful IT-420 fusion drive thrusters and a wide range of RCS thrusters giving her excellent maneuverability both in space and atmospheric flight. And she's equipped with quad Z-12 “Lancer” blaster canons and four missile launchers making her a formidable combat opponent.

:::As some of you know I’m more on the photography side of the LEGO world, but sometimes I dabble in my own builds and this is something I’ve been wanting to do for a long time; build a starfighter in my own take of the Neo-Classic Space style. However I usually lack the parts for such a build, I decided to design it in LDD and then used that to figure out the parts I’d need to BrickLink to build it. The final is slightly different from the original LDD build, but overall I’m really happy with it and excited to show it all to you now. Please let me know what you guys think! I’ll be posting more images of her in the coming days.

This time the topic is ,mechanical'. And of course again with not more than 101 elements.

So I picked two LEGO container carts with handholds (30150) and put all the mechanical stuff inside to let the HipHop Minifigs do some breakdancing.

I guess totally not more than 60 parts. So, this is the smallest HipHop Stage in the (LEGO) world.

Technicals played an important role in the 1990s Somali Civil War and the War in Somalia (2006–2009). After the fall of the Siad Barre regime and the collapse of the Somali National Army (SNA), it was rare for any Somali force to field heavy armored fighting vehicles. However, technicals were very common. -Wikipedia

Second detail shot of my recent vignette for the 253rd Elite Legion.

8th and last round of the RogueOlympics, the 101 parts challenge on the German RLOC RogueBricks.

This time the theme was "Upside Down". I had some ideas about it but constantly had Pirates Of The Caribbean and "Up Is Down" in my head.

This time no Little Robot involved and I needed only 61 parts.

Expanding upon my New Zealand collection, I've once again chosen a building from my hometown of Dunedin.

The First Church is located within the heart of the city, just a few minutes from the city's centre called the Octagon. Officially opened in 1873, the building took 6 years to complete. Designed by architect Robert Lawson, the church is built in a Gothic revival style, as with many other churches found in the city. The dominant features include a near 60 metre bell tower and spire, stained glass windows and a circular window at the back.

Hope you all like it and thanks for looking!

After 22 months of off and on construction, the LEGO Guardian Building is complete. The model is 8 feet (2.46 meters) high to the roof.

This model will be displayed for the first time at the Henry Ford Museum starting on November 24, 2014 and ending in early January 2015.

Didn’t really have a game plan when I started making these. The black one is loosely based on an old Buick, and the green is a hodge podge of reference images. But! Regardless of quirks, they can fill out parking spots well!

Orange Beach House MOC is a comfortable hide-away by the sea. It's a split-level house built directly on the beach. The idea of sandy cliffs and ground terrace with a small pool came to me first and then the rest of the house emerged along the way.

Downstairs you find a livingroom, bedroom and bathroom. Upstairs you find a calm room with sea view, kitchen and study. Fully interiored.

The building technique used to create the beach was new to me, but I think it turned out well. I used lots of curved slopes...

The building process is further described on my Instagram page (@betweenbrickwalls). Link in bio.

The Lego goat became a rare element for a few years. Once Lego produced a collectable minifig of the goatherd I decided to build him a tranquil farm to live on.

There are a few stories added to the model for intrest and intrigue
