The Dom-ino prototype by Le Corbusier. Each floor reminds of domino chips with the columns being the domino dots. The columns should be thin but strong enough to support the whole building. By doing that, there is total freedom to design walls etc on each floor. A stairway on the side connects all floors. Maison Citrohan is a development of this concept.

My first try at a Lego Architecture set depicting a building outside the US. Although I wanted to get London's Big Ben first, it was sold out, so I settled for Seoul's main southern gate, Sungnyemun.

This is my first attempt at building a Lego model of East Asian style building, and it turns out quite well. A worthy addition to my Lego collection, even with the disgusting fascist restoration currently under progress in South Korea.

The completed model as seen from the rear (from inside the city walls). As a whole, the gate is a study in opposites/contrasts (yin/yang), balancing the sturdy, monotone stone base with the colorful, delicate wooden upper structure.

(At the real gate, the wooden portion was destroyed in a freak arson attack in 2008, and is being rebuilt for completion in 2012.)

Suggestion from my Seoul-based Flickr contact moreska: populate this model with protester figures, as well as a figure of fascist President Lee Myung-bak, for a very authentic Seoul scene.

By the way of change once again a smaller one: 129 pcs!

A Lego Group inspired building (well, at least the bottom floor - the top is all mine).

The "market" in Market Street, allowed early adopters of Lego Modular Building to expand their towns with European styled market space. The set included the allusion that you could (and should) build on top of the market to add variation to the presentation.

I have elected not only to expand the footprint of this building to 20x20 studs, but to put a residence on top, with their own private entrance. This is one of 3 variations of that idea.

The sun hits the stained glass and splashes color throughout the room.

This is the 21004 set of the Architecture series, the first and smaller set of Guggenheim Museum in New York.

It was a Christmas present from several years ago but the original design had never convinced me...

So, I have changed the entire model, from the basement to the main building, until to the iconic roof!

The inspiration is the 21035 set, the bigger Guggenheim, but I always prefer the smaller sets because they are more synthetic and ingenious! :)

Situated in Hoi Tan Street of Sham Shui Po, the Kwan Tai Temple is the only temple in Kowloon to house the deity of Guan Yu from the Three Kingdoms period. Behind the entrance paifang, a courtyard was created to contain a Chinese pavilion and a censer at centre. Kwan Tai Temple was originally abutting the sea. The site was soon become an inland area after several reclaimations. Right behind the temple, there is the Sham Shui Po Public Dispensary, a Grade II historical building which also worths a visit.

Autumn Stream House MOC is a modern home lying among the trees coloured by autumn. Underneath a small stream is living its own life.

Well I have waited a while to post these, but here are the HD expansive photos of my Church Dream MOC from Summer of 2022. I went with natural lighting for the photos this time around and saw an incredible turn out. Little editing was required on the tale end of shooting. As for the slides the first five show the MOC in larger detail while the later five examine aspects of the free-form landscape and architecture better. At some point in the next few months I will either do a techniques post or a story Q&A. Thank you to any and all who supported this project along the way. I am incredibly happy with the result. If you have any feedback, it is greatly appreciated and as always, enjoy.

I'm back with my newest moc, the Red London Telephone Box.

The model contains 1856 pieces and features lots of interesting details. The door can be opened to reveal an authentic detailed interior, complete with an old fashioned telephone.

As well as the phone box I've also included a British pillar box and a street lamp complete with hanging flower baskets.

I think the iconic London Telephone Box would be a great subject for a LEGO IDEAS set so I've uploaded it to the LEGO IDEAS website. If you like the model I'd be really grateful if you could head over and give the model your support. 10,000 votes and it could become a real set.

Thanks very much.

It is a modular fish market sized 64x32 studs comprising seven pavilions and few bridges. The market is divided into wet goods and dry goods zone, with shops ranged from fish stalls, flower shop and grocery stores at Ground, and cafe and restaurant on the 1st Floor. Vibrant Coral and Dark Azur are adopted as colour palette of the design. Built with several types of window frames, a huge canopy provides weather proection to the people below. Enjoy shopping and eating with proper distancing!

This is my first Lego Architecture set: Set 21002, depicting New York City's Empire State Building, rated Age 10+, consisting of 77 pieces. This is the simplest Lego set for me to date, and it took me just over 15 minutes to build.

The completed model. Two very simple pieces are all that are needed to portray the 102nd floor observation deck and the antenna.

For my first Lego Architecture sets, I decided on three New York City landmarks. With yet another trip to New York City about to start in a week, I wanted to get into a New York state of mind, just like the Billy Joel song.

Construction of this 190-meter-tall Frankfurt skyscraper designed by Danish Bjarke Ingels Group started in 2016 and lasted until September 2019, when the first tenants moved in. It is since Frankfurt’s seventh-tallest structure, altering the city’s skyline in a major way. Omniturm offers not only office space but also condominiums at a previously unreachable point in the city, 100 meters above ground amidst the Frankfurt skyline, adjacent to iconic skyscrapers such as Sir Norman Foster’s Commerzbank Tower or SAA Schweger Architekten’s Main Tower. The floors containing the apartments are offset from the building’s core in a spiral shape to accommodate balconies, resulting in the Omniturm’s signature “hip swing”. The lower floors are open to the public while a roof terrace is accessible for tenants or inhabitants.

This model consists of 1,739 parts and is built in scale 1:650.

Also known as Still Bend, this Frank Lloyd Wright house is located in Two Rivers, WI.

My LEGO model of the Fisher Building is for the first time displayed inside the real Fisher Building. It will be at the Pure Detroit store until early January, 2014.
