Broken Lego pieces used to depict actual broken wooden planks.

The Lego goat became a rare element for a few years. Once Lego produced a collectable minifig of the goatherd I decided to build him a tranquil farm to live on.

There are a few stories added to the model for intrest and intrigue

These buildings are based on certain architectural elements found in NYC. Especially the fire escape in front, a corner deli and neighborhood restaurants.

MOC hosting an architecture firm. Lobby and exhibition on ground floor and studio on first floor.

Set 21004, part of the Architecture series, depicts New York City's Guggenheim Museum. It consists of 208 pieces, is rated Age 10+, and took me 40 minutes to build.

The completed set. Rather small, but pleasing to look at. And the building's neighbor to the back is modeled here as a generic beige wall.

This set cost $40, and is rather small for a set of its size. Lego Architecture sets that are officially licensed by Frank Lloyd Wright (Guggenheim Museum is one of several in the series that depict a Wright building) cost a bit more than otherwise; in fact, at the real Guggenheim Museum, this same set is sold for $50.

For my first Lego Architecture sets, I decided on three New York City landmarks. With yet another trip to New York City about to start in a week, I wanted to get into a New York state of mind, just like the Billy Joel song.

Exterior of the National Building Museum

Over the last 6 weeks, I had the amazing opportunity to design and build my largest LEGO creation yet. When the National Building Museum announced they were expanding their exhibit on LEGO architecture and invited Robert A.M. Stern Architects to submit a model, I jumped at the chance. There were a lot of long hours and sleepless nights as a result, but I am very happy with the end result and am honored to have something that can be enjoyed by thousands rather than just anyone who happens to be in my living room. Here are some facts and statistics:

Project: 15 Central Park West

Architect: Robert A.M. Stern Architects, LLP

Location: New York, New York

Building Height: 548 ft (35 stories)

Scale of Model: 1” = 16’-0”

Height of Model: 36”

Number of Pieces Used: over 30,000

Time to Create: 200 hours (100 hours to design; 100 hours to build)

This model is now on display in the National Building Museum in Washington, DC as part of the expanded exhibit LEGO Architecture: Towering Ambition from now until September 3, 2012. It is in the company of 15 models by LEGO certified professional builder Adam Reed Tucker, so I did my best to create something deserving of sharing the floor with them.

I'm proud to present you this MOC of Colosseum in Rome in Lego Architecture style designed by ❈ Corvus Auriac MOCs ❈! Thank to him and his essential help, I managed to re-build it with real bricks! :)

This was a VERY difficult MOC, with superb techniques that really put me in trouble! :P

I wanted to complete its MOC with the archaeological remains of the underground galleries, visible in the center of the amphitheater! :)

Thank you again Corvus Auriac! :)

MichLTC's 10 x 35 foot display is at the Henry Ford Museum from November 21, 2012 to January 6, 2013.

What's cool about this is the use of minifig hands, and they actually fit pretty well.

I've been wanting to do this for a while, create a colonnade that curves inward, which is somewhat tricky to make. This is currently not a building.

A view of the Ford Building model. This model was recently displayed in the lobby of the real Ford Building during a party for the historic skyscraper's 100 anniversary.

The MichLTC display runs from November 27, 2009 to January 3, 2010 in conjunction with the LEGO Castle Adventure exhibit at The Henry Ford.

Mein Lüneburg-Set zum Selbstbauen. Inkl. Original-LEGO©-Teile, seltener Lüneburg-Kachel und Anleitung.

The Dom-ino prototype by Le Corbusier. Each floor reminds of domino chips with the columns being the domino dots. The columns should be thin but strong enough to support the whole building. By doing that, there is total freedom to design walls etc on each floor. A stairway on the side connects all floors. Maison Citrohan is a development of this concept.

My first try at a Lego Architecture set depicting a building outside the US. Although I wanted to get London's Big Ben first, it was sold out, so I settled for Seoul's main southern gate, Sungnyemun.

This is my first attempt at building a Lego model of East Asian style building, and it turns out quite well. A worthy addition to my Lego collection, even with the disgusting fascist restoration currently under progress in South Korea.

The completed model as seen from the rear (from inside the city walls). As a whole, the gate is a study in opposites/contrasts (yin/yang), balancing the sturdy, monotone stone base with the colorful, delicate wooden upper structure.

(At the real gate, the wooden portion was destroyed in a freak arson attack in 2008, and is being rebuilt for completion in 2012.)

Suggestion from my Seoul-based Flickr contact moreska: populate this model with protester figures, as well as a figure of fascist President Lee Myung-bak, for a very authentic Seoul scene.

A Lego Group inspired building (well, at least the bottom floor - the top is all mine).

The "market" in Market Street, allowed early adopters of Lego Modular Building to expand their towns with European styled market space. The set included the allusion that you could (and should) build on top of the market to add variation to the presentation.

I have elected not only to expand the footprint of this building to 20x20 studs, but to put a residence on top, with their own private entrance. This is one of 3 variations of that idea.
