The LEGOLAND Discovery Center Osaka is a vibrant hub of creativity and family fun located within the Tempozan Marketplace. Nestled near Osaka’s iconic Ferris wheel, this indoor LEGO playground is an irresistible attraction for visitors of all ages. Designed as a mini LEGO metropolis, the center boasts an array of hands-on activities, from interactive building zones to themed rides and cinematic experiences in the 4D theater.
The architecture of the Discovery Center reflects its playful theme, with bold, geometric shapes and colorful accents that mirror the LEGO aesthetic. The exterior showcases sleek, modern lines, complemented by the iconic LEGO logo and branding, creating an inviting and dynamic facade. Inside, the space is thoughtfully arranged to spark imagination, featuring LEGO replicas of Osaka’s landmarks, including the Tsutenkaku Tower and Osaka Castle, all crafted with extraordinary attention to detail.
The Discovery Center was established as part of the broader Tempozan Harbor Village revitalization project, aiming to blend entertainment with cultural experiences. Its strategic location near the Osaka Aquarium Kaiyukan and Tempozan Ferris Wheel makes it an essential stop on any Osaka itinerary. The center also hosts seasonal events, special workshops, and exclusive LEGO exhibitions, making each visit unique.
Insiders recommend arriving early to avoid crowds and taking advantage of online ticket discounts. While LEGOLAND Discovery Center Osaka is ideal for families, it also appeals to LEGO enthusiasts eager to admire the craftsmanship and innovation behind its exhibits. Whether you’re a seasoned LEGO builder or simply looking for a dose of fun, this lively attraction offers something for everyone.

A work in progress view of the upper banking hall of my model of the Guardian Building. The black chairs and tables are for the Roland Cafe. In 1929 teller windows extended the entire length of the upper hall on both sides.
This is a replica of a Detroit building. Guess which one.

Over the last 6 weeks, I had the amazing opportunity to design and build my largest LEGO creation yet. When the National Building Museum announced they were expanding their exhibit on LEGO architecture and invited Robert A.M. Stern Architects to submit a model, I jumped at the chance. There were a lot of long hours and sleepless nights as a result, but I am very happy with the end result and am honored to have something that can be enjoyed by thousands rather than just anyone who happens to be in my living room. Here are some facts and statistics:
Project: 15 Central Park West
Architect: Robert A.M. Stern Architects, LLP
Location: New York, New York
Building Height: 548 ft (35 stories)
Scale of Model: 1” = 16’-0”
Height of Model: 36”
Number of Pieces Used: over 30,000
Time to Create: 200 hours (100 hours to design; 100 hours to build)
This model is now on display in the National Building Museum in Washington, DC as part of the expanded exhibit LEGO Architecture: Towering Ambition from now until September 3, 2012. It is in the company of 15 models by LEGO certified professional builder Adam Reed Tucker, so I did my best to create something deserving of sharing the floor with them.
The Michigan LEGO User Group (MichLUG) display at the Henry Ford Museum from November 12, 2017 to January 6, 2018. As usual, the display is on the east side of the museum past the giant Allegheny locomotive.
This build was for a client (Architecture). While the project remains undisclosed and is temporarily shelved due to COVID-19, I want to share the images before boxing up the model for a while. Hopefully this project will get revealed to the public and built at some point.

Central Library is located in Milwaukee, WI. The building opened in 1898, and the model uses 298 pieces.

The Lego goat became a rare element for a few years. Once Lego produced a collectable minifig of the goatherd I decided to build him a tranquil farm to live on.
There are a few stories added to the model for intrest and intrigue
This one has been done in media form, as an old BBC TV serial. Most of my direct inspiration comes from the illustrations in the book.
From left to right: the wigwams of the Marsh-Wiggles, the Giants' Bridge into Ettinsmoor, the House of Harfang, and the Green Witch's palace of Underland (with the cracks leading down into the Really Deep Land of Bism.

Based on BCD's Chilis, this modular building MOC features an extra 16X32 studs expansion, which allowed for the movement of the main entrance to the corner (which then transformed it into a corner building) as well as the movement of many of the internal components. It also allowed for the installation of extra booths for customers and for a hostess station. The bar area gets a boost of space as well with the rearrangement, and access to the bathrooms is now through the bar, and not through the dining area, which typically is a plus.
My 2007 model of the DPL only included the front 1/3 of the original Cass Gilbert designed portion of the main branch building, I am now creating new sections to expand my model to all of the original building. Only a small portion of the 1960s addition will be modeled so as to include the main rear entrance.
This image shows how I create multi-pane windows using relatively inexpensive and readily available parts: 1x2 clear bricks, 1x2 dark bley {blue-grey} plates, 1x6 dark bley tiles, and assorted white bricks to form the walls containing the window frames. The section in the foreground once completed, will be a mirror-image of the section in the background.
Lot's of local landmarks: Frost Bank Building, One Shoreline Plaza Towers, Harbor Bridge, Art Museum of South Texas, USS Lexington, and the seawall with its Miradores!

Exterior of Calmwater Cliff House MOC. Plates in tan, dark tan and reddish brown.
Calmwater Cliff House is located on a cliff by the beach. Two floors with a terrace on each floor. Downstairs you find a spacious kitchen and dining area, a bathroom and home office. Upstairs you find a music corner with sea view, a bedroom and the main entrance.
As you see it´s a LEGO house and I´ve mainly used the colours black, dark tan, tan and reddish brown.
I wanted to make a modern home - in some way inspired by Frank Lloyd Wright and the colours of the 20th century - updated to 21st century lifestyle.
A build based on a vision of a sustainable and modern home close to nature.
Green Rock House is divided into Three parts connected by hinges and technic pins. The roof of each level can be removed easily.
The house has full interior with a living room, kitchen, bedroom, Music corner, bathroom and gym.
This is the kitchen.
House of Three is a contemporary Scandinavian family home. I've tried to catch contemporary Scandinavian architecture in colours, floor plan and roof design. The interior and furniture in inspired by IKEA and other Scandinavian designs. Comfortable living suitable for a small family.
