This is my first photo with the JML 21mm. I used 2 led lamps for lighting with a cylinder paper for diffuser .

Sunsets of various shades brighten & darken Brighton Park, which is between Rainier Avenue South & Martin Luther King Jr. Way South, north of Aki Kurose Middle School at Graham Street in Rainier Valley's Hillman City, a suburb of Seattle, WA.
The school was formerly Sharpless Continuation School for juvenile delinquents. Now these offenders are spread out through the Seattle Public School system!!!
Oak Jewel Beetle Eurythyrea quercus (Buprestidae) male. Length: 16 mm. Dead insect prepared for the occasion of this image.
These beetles are at least as beautiful in flight as in "normal" walking position. The dissimilar colours of the abdomen appear only when they open the elytrae. Obviously it is a rare sight, you should be lucky to observe such a beautiful phenomenon. I wanted to reproduce the flying pose showing the amazing abdominal tergums.

Na haar indienstname in 2004 werd de loc gehuurd door R4C en Acts tot 30 04 2005. Daarna nam DLC de loc in dienst als DE6303.

De machine kende vervolgens vele huurders waaronder RTB als V268.
In maart 2017 werd ze gehuurd door B Logistics. Vanaf 27 4 2017 werd dit Lineas. Bij Lineas kreeg de loc een aantrekkelijk jasje. In maart 2021 liep het huurcontract met Lineas af en werd de loc terug een grijze muis en kreeg ledlampen.
In september 2021 verscheen de loc op de baan in de blauwe huislivrei van Beacon Rail.

Scherpstelling op het rode cirkeltje in de blauwe bloem.
Een beetje opgehelderd in photoshop met NIK filter viveza en wat vlekken weggewerkt in de achtergrond.
A short lived peak for 2013. I have waited 3 weeks for a shot like this, but this time, the blossoms were blown away by the previous days rain storms. There is always next year.....

Grijs weer buiten, een goed moment om eens binnenshuis met fotografie aan de slag te gaan. Naar het voorbeeld van de foto van Sus Bogaerts 'burnout' en de foto van Mark Lukes 'smokin' lightbulb', ontstond mijn plan een gloeilamp te fotograferen. De lamp moet branden, echt branden, zelfs ver-branden. Zolang het glas eromheen zit zal de lamp wel branden maar niet verbranden. Het glas moet er dus vanaf.
Eerst naar de doe-het-zelf winkel. Gloeilampen kopen, originele ouderwetse, is niet eens zo makkelijk, bijna alles is halogeen. Bij de Praxis vind ik wat ik moet hebben, een gloeilamp van 40 Watt. Om te beginnen koop ik 5 stuks. Een glimlach kan ik niet onderdrukken als ik bij de kassa een bonnetje meekrijg, veel te ruilen zal er straks niet overblijven.
Thuisgekomen, veiligheidsbril op, werkhandschoenen aan en de eerste lamp, met een plastic zakje eromheen, tussen de bankschroef. Grote knal, veel gebroken glas en een fitting met daarin iets wat ooit het filament is geweest. De gloeidraadjes bungelen alle kanten op. Duidelijk niet meer als lamp bruikbaar. Een tweede lamp, een derde, vierde en tenslotte ook de laatste knijp ik geheel aan gruzelementen.
Terug naar de Praxis. Het glas kapot maken is het probleem dus niet, de gloeidraad heelhouden wel. Een dikkere gloeidraad zou de oplossing kunnen zijn. Ik besluit een paar 60 Watt en een grote 100 Watt gloeilamp mee te nemen.
De truc met het plastic zakje en de bankschroef vervang ik door de lamp in de doos kapot te knijpen. Eerst een 60 Watt, dat gaat goed. De gloeidraad blijft heel, alleen het glas is vrijwel geheel verdwenen. Nog niet echt het resultaat wat ik zoek. Een poging met de 100 Watter dan maar. Voor de zekerheid het glas eerst beplakt met afplakband. Losjes vastgeplakt om het later nog los te kunnen trekken. De lamp in de doos en het geheel tussen de kaken van de bankschroef. Dat gaat perfect, de dikke gloeidraad beweegt niet eens. In de glazen bol zit een groot gat. Heel voorzichtig het plakband eraf, waardoor hier en daar nog wat glas afbreekt, maar het eindresultaat is prima.
Nu een opstelling maken om de lamp te laten branden. Op een plankje schroef ik een kroonsteen en wat VD-draad aan elkaar. Om te voorkomen dat de lamp in één keer verbrandt zet ik er een dimmer tussen. Heel voorzichtig soldeer ik de lamp aan de draad, zodanig dat tijdens het fotograferen de draden niet zichtbaar zijn. Het stijve VD-draad zorgt ervoor dat de lamp rechtop blijft staan. Als achtergrond gebruik ik zwart etalagekarton en als invulverlichting zet ik twee ledlampen neer.
De techniek is klaar, nu foto’s maken. Eerst wat proefopnames terwijl de lamp nog uit staat. Ik probeer verschillende sluitertijden, diafragma’s en iso-waarden. Ergens in de buurt van de 1/2000 bij f8 en iso 400 lijkt goed te gaan. De camera op motordrive en de dimmer langzaam open draaien… Een lichtflits, een rookpluim en direct draai ik de dimmer weer uit. En nu zoeken tussen de tientallen opnames of dat ene moment daadwerkelijk is vastgelegd. En ja hoor, drie opnames achter elkaar zijn raak. De eerste terwijl de lamp net opgloeit, de tweede zo fel en heet dat er rook opstijgt en de derde als de lamp weer langzaam dooft.
Nog een poging. Weer gelukt. Ik krijg de smaak te pakken en dus nogmaals… nu brandt de lamp echt door. Einde van het fotoexperiment maar een paar mooie opnames rijker.

I was scratching my head about what to shoot for my project 365 photo today, as I went to make a sandwich for lunch. As I opened the margarine, I noticed condensation had formed on the underside of the lid. The perfect photo opportunity - thanks to the refrigerator! :)

After cleaning away the mites I've made this stack about the prepared beetle. JML 21/3.5 lens was used on a bellows at 7,5x magnification. Field of view: 4,8mm x 3,2mm. 137 exposures stacked in Zerene Stacker (PMax). Illuminated with 2 LED lamp through a paper cylinder around the subject.

Another light sculpture which is both part of the Water Colors boat tour as well as the Illuminade, the walk tour in this neighbourhood. LED lamps in combination with plexiglass is doing the magic here.
Amsterdam Light Festival
The fourth edition for this Winter event in the city of Amsterdam. No longer do we have to dread the dark winter months in Amsterdam. Thanks to Amsterdam Light Festival, Amsterdam is transformed every year into a true city of lights with the help of contemporary (inter)national light artists. During this annual festival for young and old, both the residents of Amsterdam and the city’s many visitors are treated to a spectacle of light. At the same time, the festival offers talented (young) light artists a platform to present their latest work.
This year, the 55-day festival is dedicated to theme 'Friendship' and can be visited from 28 November 2015 to 17 January 2016. Water Colors will take place from 28 November 2015 to 17 January 2016 and the walking route Illuminade will take place from 10 December 2015 to 3 January 2016. Let's celebrate the winter together with art, light and water!

A Tale of Two Cities
Artist: Vendel & de Wolf [Artist duo]
Location: Nieuwe Herengracht | Wertheimpark
The title of the work A Tale of Two Cities by Vendel & De Wolf is derived from the famous novel by Charles Dickens from 1859. The artists have given their work this name because of the similarities between the work and the book. Both are full of symbols about decline and resurrection. Another important aspect to the artists was that Dickens wrote his book during a very turbulent period in Europe. It’s that facet in particular in which the artists see a lot of analogies with our time: ‘Europe is a rich and happy continent, but it is also under pressure. It is this tension we wanted to convey.’ Two cities, which may either be merging or colliding, made of plexiglass en illuminated by thousends of LED lamps. These lamps are controled by the public. Literally a high tension job and interactive for a legitimate reason, because just as in Europe we share the responsibility for the end result.
It was the best of times, it was the worst of times, it was the age of wisdom, it was the age of foolishness, it was the epoch of belief, it was the epoch of incredulity, it was the season of Light, it was the season of Darkness, it was the spring of hope, it was the winter of despair, we had everything before us, we had nothing before us, we were all going direct to Heaven, we were all going direct the other way.
The Dutch artists Paul Vendel and Sandra de Wolf have been inseparable since they met during their studies in audiovisual art and photography at the Gerrit Rietveld Academy. They have been working together as Vendel & De Wolf for 25 years. They create mainly site-specific work, drawing on the physical, social, cultural and historical contexts in which the work is exhibited. They refer to their work as ‘growing structures’ that reveal the beauty of existing issues.

Festival Amsterdam 2016
De wintermaanden zijn in Amsterdam verleden tijd dankzij Amsterdam Light Festival.
Tijdens dit jaarlijkse festival voor jong en oud toveren hedendaagse (internationale) lichtkunstenaars de stad om tot een ware lichtstad. Ontstaan vanuit het idee om de inwoners én bezoekers van de stad te trakteren op meer positiviteit tijdens de donkere winterdagen, biedt het festival een podium aan getalenteerde lichtkunstenaars.
Lichtkunst is een vrij jonge kunstvorm, die aan kunstenaars -dankzij de LED-revolutie- totaal nieuwe expressiemogelijkheden biedt op het snijvlak van kunst en technologie. Het Festival beoogt de ontwikkeling van lichtkunst en lichtkunstenaars te stimuleren en bekend te maken bij een groot publiek, door lichtkunst in een vrij toegankelijke presentatie in de openbare ruimte te plaatsen.
My newly acquired Pentax 6X7 Takumar 105/2.4. It has the infamous yellow/brown color cast in the rear lens element.
I am currently de-yellowing it under a Jansjö LED lamp from Ikea. Here's a photo of the progress so far: Before treatment, after 38 and 86 hours.
The method seems to work, but obviously it's going to take quite some time.
I photographed the lens in natural light, and since the daylight varies with the weather there are minor differences in the white balance. I've tried to compensate by white balancing the background in the editing.

My new Bellows arrived today as you can see.
As soon as I had planned it out I got to work to build the new and improved setup :-)
Everything in the Photo is what you need for 4x and 10x stacks and it is all very very cheap. Something you should always do with MicroPhotography is try the cheapest options first before splashing out on the expensive stuff...
I truly believe with this I will be able to get 0.001mm for my 10x and hopefully 20x stacks as I have modified the cog motor being closer and parallel and online precisly with the Rail it moves.
I hope this helps people get going with stacking as I've had quite a few queries about it, but it really is simple once you get everything and nail it down onto one board, quote from Geetee55 :D
I'll have another tester up today of a meer 4x but it looks amazingly sharp so all is on the up it seems.
