The bridge leads over the Enns river into the historical old town and towards the castle, which was built early in the 10th century. The oldest document mentionning it dates back to 985, but back then it was called Styraburg - which is the root of the name of the city Steyr. Later, it was named Lamberg after the family that owned it from 1666 to 1938 - the beginning of WW2.
This is an other shot from my hotel room, I took it at dawn. Maybe I'll post the original some time.

WORMSLOE -I will revisit
A breathtaking avenue sheltered by live oaks and Spanish moss leads to the tabby ruins of Wormsloe, the colonial estate of Noble Jones (1702–1775). Jones was a humble carpenter who arrived in Georgia in 1733 with James Oglethorpe and the first group of settlers from England. Wormsloe's tabby ruin is the oldest standing structure in Savannah.
Surviving hunger, plague and warfare in the rugged environment of Georgia, Jones went on to serve the colony as a doctor, constable, Indian agent, Royal Councilor and surveyor, laying out the towns of Augusta and New Ebenezer. He also commanded a company of marines charged with defending the Georgia coast from the Spanish. Jones died at the beginning of the American Revolution, but his descendants sustained Wormsloe until the state of Georgia acquired most of the property in 1973.
Today, visitors can interact with historical interpreters during programs and events, and view a museum with artifacts unearthed at Wormsloe, as well as a short film about the site and the founding of Georgia. The interpretive nature trail leads past the tabby ruins along the marsh to the Colonial Life Area where, during programs and special events, demonstrators in period dress exhibit the tools and skills of colonial Georgia. The site hosts several events throughout the year, including the “Colonial Faire and Muster” in February, which highlights aspects of 18th-century life, such as music, dancing, crafts and military drills and the “Tools and Skills that Built a Colony” event over Labor Day weekend.
The name “Wormsloe” came from Jones’ township in England: Wormslow (Wormelow) Hundred in Herefordshire. British residents of the town have even visited Wormsloe Historic Site.

"Today my daughter said to me, "Why do you concentrate on heavenly desires, Mama? I like earthly desires. Heavenly desires are boring." I asked her what she thought a heavenly desire was and she said, "I don't know. God?" Then we had a big discussion (I think she was listening?) about what God and Heaven are and the difference between joy and happiness, too. I see her on the one hand with a deep, pure faith and instinct for God and on the other, having a lot of friction against any element of faith that feels 'forced'. Also this idea that heaven is an end of earthly happiness. What is your answer?"

“Your daughter's response is understandable and that of many people. We can only imagine the joy of heaven compared with the happiness on earth. God wants both. If we concentrate on making other people (not just ourselves) happy on earth, then we shall come to know God better through that and knowing God leads to the deeper joy of heaven, which is beyond us now. The Great Heath 10KM 2013 Road Race and Fun Run was held at The Great Heath, Portlaoise, Co. Laois, Ireland on Sunday 20th January 2013 at 11:00. This leads on from two very successful previous runnings of the event by The Heath GAA club and the local community. The race starts and finishes at The Heath GAA club (just adjacent to the M8 Motorway). This event has grown in popularity and it was again very well organised. The very cold winter weather of the past few days made sure that running conditions were about right. There was a tough breeze in places on the course which followed a left-handed loop course into the Laois countryside. The success of this year's race is reflected in the 600 finishers that finished the race. This is well up on the 450 participants from the 2012 event. Well done to everyone involved.
