One last gathering, of the fallen leaves,

some are already rotting at the bottom of the creek,

others flow for a while before they sink,

an unexpected wind will send also them on their final journey,

it's autumn.

Thanks for looking.

♫ Last Christmas, I gave you my heart

But the very next day, you gave it away

This year, to save me from tears

I'll give it to someone special ♫

On our last morning in the lake district we decided on a little drive around the Langdale valley, before we got there we drove through this tree framed lane which was beautifully lit by the rising sun and of course we couldn't resist capturing a few

When the last eagle flies over the last crumbling mountain

And the last lion roars at the last dusty fountain

In the shadow of the forest though she may be old and worn

They will stare unbelieving at the last unicorn

When the first breath of winter through the flowers is icing

And you look to the north and a pale moon is rising

And it seems like all is dying and would leave the world to mourn

In the distance hear the laughter of the last unicorn

I'm alive, I'm alive

When the last moon is cast over the last star of morning

And the future has passed without even a last desperate warning

Then look into the sky where through the clouds a path is torn

Look and see her how she sparkles, it's the last unicorn

I'm alive, I'm alive

Plan was Tynemouth Pier for High Tode and some crashing waves, turned out the sea was flat so opted for a closer journey and St Mary's, was not happy with the few i got but this caught my eye and typically the last shot I took

Late afternoon today, just after 5, cold but a great sunset, looking out of a back room at home, hearing Mr blackbird singing goodbye to the last flight......

I have a small lilac tree in a large planter on my balcony. These are the last leaves on it after last night's heavy wind and rainstorm. A rain drop is still hanging on.

Like me this dandelion is clearly not ready for winter. While its friends let go gracefully, it’s clinging to those last few tufts for dear life. Could be resilience, or perhaps denial.

Either way, it's giving strong “just five more minutes of autumn” vibes. Pretty much how I feel with the colder weather that has moved in this week. I'm definitely in denial. Some trips away are required methinks ;)

Thanks kindly for any likes/comments, they are always greatly appreciated.

Last Fall

I'm hurting you again

Too lonely to pretend

Like everything is new

I promise you to

Blow it all away

In your world

No one is crying alone

In your world

No one is dying alone

Too broken to belong

too weak to sing along

I'll comfort you my friend

Helping you to

Blow it all away

In your world

No one is crying alone

In your world

No one is dying alone

This is my last image of a hooded merganser from this shoot. I like this one because it shows off the crown of this beautiful female. In the past, I was more focused on the male hooded merganser but the female is really beautiful in her own right.

Hop-A-Long and I had a contest of patience last night over who could sit still in the same spot for the longest time. He won.

I was hoping he would take flight for me but he wasn't having it. I think he was just sort of settled in for the night.

It's okay. He gave me a nice low light portrait that I'm happy with.

By February 2006, Rio Grande EMD SD40T-2 No. 5371 was the last Denver & Rio Grande Western locomotive on the Union Pacific system in its original unpatched paint and road number. Slumbering next to the one-stall enginehouse at Helper, the Tunnel Motor sends smoke into a starry Utah night on the eve of October 23, 2007.

The last to leave the nest. I suspect this was the one small chick in the nest and a little reluctant to make the jump. Later in the day it had made it to the yard and was very protected by mom and dad. Then the oddest thing happened, I was sitting by my computer and heard some noise coming from the deck. Wouldn't you know it but the chick was right by the door hopping around! It flew about 20 feet to the lawn and rested for a while. The mom would land and coax it to follow in the direction of the woods. Every so often she would take flight into the woods, only to return when the chick stayed put. This went on for several times until at last, the chick took off and disappeared into the woods! And this is the end of my report on the robin chick family. :)

I love The Last Forever sim. It reminds me of the film "The Last Picture Show". It is a great place to visit, shop, go riding on your horse, or just hang out.
