A fun labyrinth at Chenonceau; our tour guide said that it's impossible to get lost if you're more than 5 feet tall... That being said, we determined that two of our party might have problems finishing the maze...
Back from a long hiatus! After lots of busy-ness and confusion, hopefully I'll be able to upload some pictures and videos more often!
Opening of the labyrinth and outdoor fitness equipment at Borchard Park in Newbury Park.

I made the worm out of paper clay, feathers, acrylic and water paints and I knit his little cotton scarf. The yarn is wool, silk, alpaca blend and it's dyed with cochineal.
Labyrinth at Emory Presbyterian Church on North Decatur road. It is a contemporary "chalice" labyrinth, six circuit with switchbacks, an incorporation of classical with medieval design. The first switchback is lower left, second is upper left, then one crosses over to the upper right for the third, lower left for the fourth, inner lobe right for the fifth, then one crosses over to the inner switchback left which is the sixth and opens to the center, which has been decorated with a cross design. Material is paving stone of different colors (which I've enhanced a good deal here, appearing more as they would if wet). Setting is the front yard of the church on a busy road so you can make a public spectacle of yourself performing this private, meditative rite.

LABYRINTHS
Sinuosity. Lifelines.
Mutant labyrinth
Surprises at every turn?
Sometimes yes … others no … maybe never.
Parallel curves, various simple and complex curves.
Absence of lines, which are actually curves.
Lines are curves … curves with infinite radius.
The beauty of geometry, defining the nature.
All this “chaos” in black and white, obeys a mathematical model
Complex model but totally equable.
Known as fractals.
Through photography was preserved this unique moment.
This design is also unique,
The fractals mutation remains.
A world in constant change, change, change.
As privileged observers we seek to track changes,
Tracking with the same speed of its occurrence.
Seeking somehow to anticipate facts
To live pleasant surprises.
This labyrinth is on a Marin County hilltop that grants views as far east as Mount Diablo, as far south as San Francisco (its skyscrapers are visible on the horizon right above the center stones) and Mount Tamalpais (visible on the right, of course), and White Hill to the west.
