Kroot Carnivores from the Tau Battleforce. I painted their armour plates to match the rest of the army and used the turquoise Sept colour to keep them tied to the rest of my cadre.
A "quick" and dirty paint job - the goal was to paint this pair of Kroot Carnivores as quickly as possible and still have them look good. This pair took one day (one session, not 24 hours!).
The Tau shoulder guard could denote that he is a Shaper.
(Notice they have grenades and pistols? Why don't they use them in the game huh?!)

This is a draft of the force organisation chart for my Space Marine Chapter, the Spears of Mawdryn - which combines Iron Age Celtic elements with an Arthurian theme (5th-6th century AD, post-Roman Britain).
I've now increased the Chapter strength to 5 Companies, the Chapter having been depleted by a Chaos incursion. As ever, expect an updated version ASAP. Numbers and details are arbitrary at present.

I wanted to maintain a muted colour scheme for my Kroot, using Catachan Green for skin, Scorched Brown for leather and Dheneb Stone for spines (still using old paints). Space Wolves Grey and Hawk Turquoise were the spot colours. I based them with snow and winter tufts to tie them in with my army whilst still separating them from the urban/stone bases on most of my units.

Je suis parti des vermines de choc auxquelles ont été rajoutés les armes Kroots et toute une panoplie de Grenades
My friend Greg wanted to have a special diorama made for his IG army that he could show off at tournaments, so he hired me to make a weird little scene.
In 40K the Kroot, a birdlike humanoid race, are mercenaries and so they are currently being used with the Imperial Guard. This is a scene where there is some downtime in the action and the two groups are mixing it up.
On the left you have two commanders consulting a scanner to plan out the next mission.
In the middle you have an IG and Kroot just sitting on a log, eating some freshly hunted animal over a fire. The Kroot are known to be nasty, smelly carnivores that just hang hunks of meat off of them as snacks. It's like having a vulture carry some of its food about with it. So the Kroot is spattered in blood as it leans back for a hearty laugh.
And on the right you see an IG and Kroot have exchanged each other's weapons and are comparing them.
It should also be mentioned that there is a little blinking red led set down in the campfire which can be turned on.

Companion piece to my other medical stuff. Had a scrap of text that wouldn't fit anywhere, so created a "Quick Reference Card"
A must for all Imperial medical personnel, from medics and nursing staff to the Chirurgeon-General.
