Elijah Taylor, a recent graduate of Brattleboro Union High School, was able to attend the Vermont Jazz Center's week-long workshops with the help of the Nicholas Mattingley Scholarship. The scholarship was set up to help send recent graduates from Brattleboro Union High School attend the workshops. Nicholas Mattingley, who died of an opioid overdose on April 21, 2014, was following in his father's footsteps as a musician before he died.
