Happy New Year !!!

Time seems to be flying by this year.

So finding some extra time today, just to relax and sew up my first ever Bunting Flags was fabulous. (I did cheat a little with the sewing - just cutting the edges of the flags with Pinking Shears - but I'm loving the way they have turned out ;)

Julia's boyfriend Kris came to visit her, despite his insane surgery he just had. He was quite the trooper having come out. I'd be scared that I might explode on the plane or something, right? I insisted that he come to my favorite part of San Francisco, my roof. I think he liked it.

I matter because my family is depending on me. They’re depending on me to become the one person in my family to find the way out. My family and situation inspires me to be their hope. I use my younger brother to represent me, and a key to represent the opportunities for my future. Both my mother and father hold my brother’s shoulders to show their hope and trust within me. I edited this photo to black and white to bring out a melancholic vibe to manifest our perspective. People are depending on me, and I´ll make them proud.

I do so love making quick and simple 'easy as' projects, and this cute little peg bag is no exception.

To make the peg bag I used a fat qtr of Spoonflower's Ottoman Rib base fabric, and my fabric design: Silhouette Charcoal

I have included some 'easy as' instructions in the picture, just incase you would like to make one too - Enjoy - Cheers, Kris :)

Had a blast hanging out at Lunch 2.0 down at Hitachi Data Systems today. Jeremiah Owyang was our host and had a very succesful turnout. All in more than 200 people showed up to check out a bunch of great companies.

It was good catching up with lots of great friends. Gabe Rivera from TechMeme was there and Robert Scoble (who plans on releasing the video of our photo walk over at PodTech probably next week). Andy Frazer, one of my favorite photographers, came by and we got to talk a little bit about some of the night photography he's been doing lately. Andy is amazing and you should definitely check out his work. Vic Podcaster did an interview with Kristopher and me about Zooomr. Laughing Squid Scott Beale was there with his camera in tow. Shel Israel got a great meta shot of me shooting some laughing squid stickers. And a bunch of great companies Box.net, Riya, Zvents, Zazzle and my favorite music service Pandora just to name a few.

It was great talking to Tom Conrad about Pandora and learning more about why and how it works. Pandora is a kick ass music service and my favorite place to listen to music right now.

There were so many great people and I know I left a ton out.

We had a great time showing people Zooomr and talking about the future of photo sharing in general.

People seemed to really like the Zooomr feature of showing who was in a photo as well as our Portals and geotagging features.

I uploaded a few shots of the event as it was happening but have a ton more to still edit and post later on tonight. Here is my initial small set that will be a lot bigger hopefully later tonight.

Thanks again to Jeremiah and Hitachi Data Systems for being such gracious hosts and for providng the great free lunch.

Kristopher and I are hanging out today and tomorrow at the Future of Web Apps Conference here at the Palace of Fine Arts in San Francisco. Kevin Rose just got done talking about Digg and there is lots and lots about social networks and how to make them better. Hopefully we can learn a bit to make Zooomr even better as well.

I've got a SmartSet of shots of the conference available up here.

Kristopher is a bot. He has an IT job and when no one is looking at him, he logs on to twitter to find irrelevant TWSS jokes.

He is good at pointing at random conversations and changing meanings, entirely. He is virtually beaten up a lot and hence, he prefers to stay on the trees. Or whatever. heavy Beer drinker + Biker . Borivali boy. IC Colony stud.

It's his Birthday. And It's Independence day.

Fabric roses are a perfect way to use up scraps of cotton or linen fabrics ... and they look oh! so pretty decorating presents etc ...

Easy As - Fabric Rose - Tutorial!

- Tear a strip of fabric (Note: changing the width and length of your fabric strips will create interesting variations in your roses)

- Fray the edges of your fabric strip

- Tie a knot in one end of your fabric strip

- Wrap the remaining fabric strip around the knot (twisting as you go)

- As you twist the fabric use a needle and thread to stitch fabric in place (or hold fabric in place with glue from a hot glue gun etc)

- When you have almost finished wrapping your rose, tuck the end of your fabric strip to the underside of your new rose

- Your new fabric rose can then be sewn onto ribbon to decorate presents etc

-Enjoy :)
