Winter has finally turned to Spring here in Australia - Yay!
So in anticipation of warm sunny days to come, I've made a light Summer skirt, using 1 yard of Spoonflower's lovely Oganic Cotton Knit and my new design 'Silhouette' in Charcoal and White :)

I love using old glass bottles to display flowers, fresh from the garden.
I find however, that mini glass bottles (recycled from supermarket juice bottles) used on their own can be wobbly at the best of times ... so in order to make these little glass bottles more stable, I decided to join several together, simply by wrapping them with twine!
To make these "Easy As" Mini Glass Vases:
1) Place (a minimum of two) mini glass bottles side by side
2) Wrap twine around the outside of all your mini glass bottles (If joining more than two bottles you will probably need another pair of hands to help you hold the bottles.)
3) Wrap twine tightly between each of the bottles (enough to stop the glass from touching)
4) Fill your new vase with water and flowers and enjoy :)

Kristopher is holding the new JPG Magazine (check out the ad on the back) so in addition to Photobucket, Flickr and Zooomr, you kind of have JPG in the photo as well. I think they are making little hearts with their hands.

Union Jack Appliqué Cushion Directions:
- Cut out ‘Union Jack -Antique’ cushion pieces (as shown on Spoonflower's Organic Cotton Knit)
- Cut out a rectangle of white cotton knit (t-shirt) fabric (to match Union Jack rectangle)
- Lay plain white rectangle (right side up) on a flat surface
- Place Union Jack rectangle (right side up) directly above
- Pin fabrics together
- Using embroidery thread, hand stitch along the edges of the coloured Union Jack sections
(leave the outside cushion edges unstitched)
- To finish your appliquéd cushion front :
Work on the TOP layer of fabric only
- cut all white sections of the Union Jack design (5mm away from coloured edge) to reveal white fabric below!
- Lay the small cuhion back panel (right side down) on a flat surface
- Lay the larger cushion back panel (right side down) so 15cm is directly above the first panels right edge and the remaining fabric lays to the right.
- Lay appliquéd cushion front rectangle above (right side up) so the middle of the Union Jack is directly above the overlapping back panels
- Trim excess fabric from cushion back panels to match cushion front.
- Pin cushion layers together and hand stitch cushion sides (5 mm from cushion edge)
- Insert cushion inner to fit
- Enjoy!

As soon as my "Dusty Pink Daisy" fabric sample arrived from Spoonflower, I knew my days - To Do - List would be out the window!
So instead of working, I searched the internet for a cute little toddler dress pattern and spent the day sewing instead ;)

According to Kristopher, who was delighted to instruct the others in the correct method, the key is to completely relax your face when you shake to & fro.
Now if only JULIA WOULD POST THE POLAROIDS.
See, last weekend, oh shit, wait, two weekends ago, now, FUCK, Julia found herself the owner of one of those giant portrait cameras that takes 1, 2 or 4 different shots on 1 print. So, sunday, a bunch of us, having just experienced the Nerd Out proper in Dolores Park, then to Golden Gate Park, through Golden Gate Park, eaten pizza at Escape from NY Pizza(genius name, and the pizza is tasty as fuck), ice cream at Ben & Jerry's(if only because Julia had dropped the ice cream she'd been craving the day before) and found ourselves at her apartment. And so, exhausted and sunburnt, what else could we do but line up and take MORE POLAROIDS!!! Damn, that camera was good times, had a laser sight and everything.
