Quote by Kofi Annan, who served as seventh Secretary-General of the United Nations from 1997 to 2006.
This stained glass window, which forms a wall of the library, was brought over from the old Children's Hospital.

In December 2025, the GLF Community & Action team joined Sydner Kemunto, 2025 Drylands Restoration Steward, her peer mentor Claudine Kamanzi, 2024 Dryland Restoration Steward alumna and GLF experts for an immersive two-day field visit to her restoration site in Kaani, Machakos, Kenya. The visit provided participants with a unique opportunity to exchange knowledge on the progress of her project, explore the challenges faced, and highlight the collective efforts driving dryland restoration.

Mathematics Knowledge of Introductory Physics Students
Thomas Foster
Southern Illinois University Edwardsville
A mathematics assessment was designed to permit student success and to probe the difference between students' arithmetic and algebra skills. When analyzed the test showed both order and test effects. The results suggest that students have compartmentalized knowledge, are not experts in either subject, but do respond to implicit expectations. This talk will present these results and their implications for physics instruction.
In the last edition of Common Knowledge 2013-2014 cultural professionals with interesting ideas and projects were in the spotlight. A team of coaches helped creatives to prepare the best pitch, which they presented in front of a jury and advisory board, and of course nice audience.

Orem, Utah, Utah Valley University - Roots of Knowledge - Column W - Worth the Fighting For - notes: Through such events as the Great Depression, World War II, the Holocaust, the initil stages of the Atomic Age and the Cold War, and a series of other disasters – both man-made and natural – society was teted during the 1930s and 40s to its limits. In spite of these unprecedented trials, civilization was victorious and proved that the forces of freedom and truth are more powerful and enduring than the forces of tyranny and hated.
