In the last edition of Common Knowledge 2013-2014 cultural professionals with interesting ideas and projects were in the spotlight. A team of coaches helped creatives to prepare the best pitch, which they presented in front of a jury and advisory board, and of course nice audience.

Common Knowledge collaborated with Bureau Europa. For the edition 9 we have invited Jeroen Laven of Stipo, for a lecture on urban development, social-spatial strategy and how creative are the driving force behind the new economy.
Afterwards a dialogue focused on the City of Maastricht raised interesting topics and needs.

In this domestic scene, a mother or older sister has paused in her mending to help a young girl with her knitting. Millet highlights the intimacy of rural family life as well as the importance of handing down traditional knowledge and skills. The tiled floor and leaded glass window are probably based on features of Millet’s home in the village of Barbizon, southeast of Paris, but they also echo details that appear in seventeenth-century Dutch paintings.

Our 2nd day of Back to School Bash 2021 took place on Monday December 27, 2021. In learning about diabetes, I have read dozens of books. Each gives me useful information to help with managing the disease. Unfortunately, even with all the printed material in the world, my life is somewhat of an experiment. No two diabetes is the same, so I am constantly testing my individual numbers and reactions to food, activity and insulin. What works for some, does not work for all!

With a mission to give the little Prideens a healthy dose of knowledge about vitamins & minerals, Mother's Pride recently celebrated Fruits &Vegetables Week. Children were indulged in interesting activities to give them a deep understanding about different common fruits &vegetables found in the lap of mother nature. They learnt about different tastes & colours of these fruits & vegetables so that they can quickly & appropriately recognize them always. It was a fun-filled week for these young prideens!
“The Bridge to Knowledge”, Mild Steel/ concrete, 9’6” x 20’ x 12’6”, 2000
A geometric, pyramidal, arched form rising from a three tiered stained concrete pedestal, and finished with a time worn patina. The landforms of the site undulate and cover parts of the pedestal making the piece appear to be an ancient uncovered ‘find’. This ‘excavated’ truth form expresses the realization of an education. Each of the twelve interlocking triangles symbolizes a building block, dependent upon all others during the quest for knowledge.
The Bridge to Knowledge is located on the Central New Mexico Community College in Albuquerque.

‘The Political Reporter’ is a new media installation by Boone, NC-based artist Mark Nystrom that generates random, but intriguing statements with words found on political websites and in the media. Sources include the Obama and Romney presidential campaigns, the Democratic and Republican parties, bloggers and the news media.
‘The Political Reporter’ animates a cloud of letters and periodically makes statements. These images are screen grabs taken while ‘The Political Reporter’ was running on Election Day and the day after.
Letters from words gathered from conservative sources are colored red and ones from liberal sources are blue. ‘The Political Reporter’s’ vocabulary includes over 70,000 words, but only 300 appear on the screen at any given time. As words are used to make statements, they are replaced by randomly chosen new ones from the list of 70,000.
