3 May 2026 – Discussions under way at the South Asia Subregional Economic Cooperation (SASEC) knowledge event Subregional Seminar Opportunities for South Asia in a Fragmented World hosted as a side event of the 59th Annual Meeting of the ADB Board of Governors in Samarkand, Uzbekistan.
The session analyzed the structural changes in global trade, assess integration gaps and participation in global value chains, and explored strategies to enhance connectivity and resilience. The discussion highlighted pathways to build resilient supply chains, expand trade, and support sustained and inclusive growth across South Asia.
The 2026 ADB Annual Meeting is being held from 3 to 6 May under the theme “Crossroads of Progress: Advancing the Region’s Connected Future.”
The ADB Annual Meeting brings together policymakers, private sector leaders, development partners, and innovators to advance practical solutions in connectivity, digital innovation, and innovative finance—strengthening the region’s capacity for resilient and sustainable growth. Over the years, the event has become a leading forum for discussion of economic and social development issues in Asia and the Pacific.

Star of Hope supports education, making access to education a priority. To accomplish this, all children need school material.
Your parents have sacrificed and saved to give you one pen and maybe a composition book in which to copy what your teacher writes on the board. No matter what subject you study - you learn by copying information. The pupils needs school supplies. They are thrilled to have the basics; writing utensils, paper and notebooks.
Many children currently have only half of the textbooks that are needed. The packs can be purchased in each country and they hope to have one complete book set for each student.

Trees are often associated with wisdom, and knowledge, and that they process the hidden secrets of life here on earth. This meaning may have come from the symbolic connection between trees and worlds above and below human experience. The tree is a symbol of wisdom in stories about the life. This is my wisdom tree. Knowledge of the land - I learned guns and spend hours learning ballistics, coefficients and reloading. Spent Years in the outback with Red/Miller, shooting grouse ,deer and moose. Jarred and canned thousands of pounds of tomatoes and beans, plus, thousand pints of kokanee Salmon. Not to forget all the potatoes and other veg in her garden over the years--this art is disappearing. Although, Tracy just inherited all her canning paraphernalia

On Thursday 14 September 2017, UCL Urban Laboratory and Folkestone Triennial 2017 launched the EDGE symposium series, exploring the concept of situated practice in contemporary art, architecture and urbanism. The events bring together practitioners and thinkers at three ‘edge’ locations connected by the High Speed 1 railway, which acts a geographical link and embodies ideas associated with community, connectivity and escapism.
In framing these events, we have considered 'edge' as: 'Where an area that is known or privileged meets another that is unknown or ignored; a point of balance between contrary or diverse phenomena; a place of connectivity and interaction.'
'Gateway' was a day of enquiry on Bloomsbury and King's Cross as 'edge' locations through a mix of artist masterclasses and an evening conference. The Gower Street campus of UCL was planned and built on the urban/rural edge of nineteenth-century London, a ‘learning’ gateway through which generations of students have now passed, and one which now runs up against the King’s Cross development, conceived as a mix of ‘knowledge’ and ‘transport’ gateways.
