I run on the bayou behind my house that is next to a church. I run past this book alot and I finally decided to take a photo. I have to admit this photo didn't look as good as this straight from the camera but thank goodness for the iPhone app Big Lens, I got to get this look. Since I don't know when my camera will be up and running I am going to have to use my iPhone 4 keep my 366 going.

I took about 60 photos trying to get perfect sunset in the forest photos and none of them turned out right. Alot of them had flare or didn't me positioned with the sunset correctly or looked too dark. I know now how to improve on the picture next time. There isn't anything special about this photo, I just wanted to use it as I didn't want to post one of the bad ones.

Ithaca

When you set sail for Ithaca,

wish for the road to be long,

full of adventures, full of knowledge.

The Lestrygonians and the Cyclops,

an angry Poseidon -- do not fear.

You will never find such on your path,

if your thoughts remain lofty, and your spirit

and body are touched by a fine emotion.

The Lestrygonians and the Cyclops,

a savage Poseidon you will not encounter,

if you do not carry them within your spirit,

if your spirit does not place them before you.

Wish for the road to be long.

Many the summer mornings to be which with

pleasure, with joy

you will enter ports seen for the first time;

stop at Phoenician markets,

and purchase the fine goods,

nacre and coral, amber and ebony,

and exquisite perfumes of all sorts,

the most delicate fragances you can find,

to many Egyptian cities you must go,

to learn and learn from the cultivated.

Always keep Ithaca in your mind.

To arrive there is your final destination.

But do not hurry the voyage at all.

It is better for it to last many years,

and when old to rest in the island,

rich with all you have gained on the way,

not expecting Ithaca to offer you wealth.

Ithaca has given you the beautiful journey.

Without her you would not have set out on the road.

Nothing more has she got to give you.

And if you find her threadbare, Ithaca has not deceived you.

Wise as you have become, with so much experience,

you must already have understood what Ithacas mean.

I've taken a few cabs lately and all have had the tom tom. What has sat nav technology done to the kudos of the taxi driver? What has it done to 'the knowledge', the cornerstone of their reputation and business? Are knowledge tests now redundant?

I also find it interesting how people, particularly women travelling alone, are using cameraphones to take images of cab drivers / driver licenses when taking a cab home to mitigate the risk of attack or abuse.

What other social uses does the cameraphone and the 'image' have in discreet social situtions to help us stay safe? Occasions / need states anyone? I've seen people use them when they've been in an accident - but that doesn't require the upload of the image to a remote server necessarily.

Chris worked in the shop inside the castle selling all kinds of replica swords. After answering many many questions about them, he let me take his photo. Here he stands with a 6'7" sword, one that would be very similar to what William Wallace would have used against the English Cavalry.

The appetizers: Sambousa and the red stuff which tasted like chicken.
