The picture portrays the mind as a vortex of swirling, infinite knowledge, as it is forever absorbing information (illustrated by the formulas and symbols flying into the brain). The protruding brain is to signify an ever growing mind. My eyebags show the immense hours required to acquire knowledge. The greyish white background represents pages of books, where we get information from. The electrons revolving around it personify the mind as a nucleus of an atom, and also upholds a sense of power. Hence the title, "Knowledge is Power'.

Santa Fe; N.M. - Officer candidate class 58-15 graduated eight new officers during a ceremony Aug. 2; 2015. The new second lieutenants began this training 18 months ago with a group of 14 hopefuls. Over the course of their training; the officers traveled to different states; endured hours of physical training; gained knowledge of what it takes to be a leader and logged many miles of ruck marching. Each candidate will now go on to attend their respective branch school and then serve as second lieutenants in the New Mexico Army National Guard. The newly commissioned second lieutenants are 2nd Lt. Joseph Amadahl: Signal; 2nd Lt. Matthew Betz: Engineer; 2nd Lt. Anthony Epperson: Infantry; 2nd Lt. Daniel Galvan: Infantry; 2nd Lt. The ‘Ecosystem-based Adaptation South’ project seeks to help the Seychelles, Nepal and Mauritania to adapt to climate change, in part by restoring natural habitats across all types of ecosystems. In the Seychelles, on-the-ground ecological restoration will rehabilitate 29 hectares of mangrove and wetland forests, thus providing natural flood barriers. At the launch event, the DFID Head Ms. Joanna Reid, UN Resident Coordinator and Humanitarian Coordinator for Pakistan Mr. Neil Buhne, Chairman NDMA Lt General Omar Mahmood Hayat, UNITAR Manager of Green Development and Climate Change, Mr. Angus Mackay and UNITAR Manager of Operational Satellite Applications Programme (UNOSAT), Mr. Einar Bjorgo attended the event amongst other participants from the government, UN agencies, donor organizations, international and local NGOs, and academia.

This image forms part of the digitised photographs of the Ross and Pat Craig Collection. Ross Craig (1926-2012) was a local historian born in Stockton and dedicated much of his life promoting and conserving the history of Stockton, NSW. He possessed a wealth of knowledge about the suburb and was a founding member of the Stockton Historical Society and co-editor of its magazine. Pat Craig supported her husband’s passion for history, and together they made a great contribution to the Stockton and Newcastle communities. We thank the Craig Family and Stockton Historical Society who have kindly given Cultural Collections at the University of Newcastle, NSW, Australia, access to the collection and allowed us to publish the images. Thanks also to Vera Deacon for her liaison in attaining this important collection.
