These socks start with Fancy Shell Rib from A Second Treasury of Knitting Patterns by Barbara G. Walker, then morph into Corded Rib from Sensational Knitted Socked by Charlene Schurch.

Fun with 16-stitch left crosses!

This is the project that started my knitting obsession. A few years ago I found this free pattern online, to cut half inch strips of fabric and knit them into a little purse. Havings so many bits and pieces of fabric at the time, and no yarn, I got to cutting strips and strips of my quilting fabric, found an old pair of needles and the long hidden knitting obsession awoke :)

The purse is just knitted strips of batik fabric (a tighter weave and less fraying). The strips are knotted together, nothing fancy. Straight for so long, then decreased on both sides to make the flap. What could be easier?

My first completed piece.

Honey Cowl (madelinetosh.com/store/index.php/honey-cowl.html), knit with Malabrigo Rios in Archangel.

I love how the variegated yarn would lead to individual bright yellow stitches in a field of pinky-purple.

Slow progress on my current sweater.

This is my new beret - I love the organic cables! I decided not to block this one out because I like the way it looks on me right now.

I used my handspun merino/tussah from louet, chunky 2 ply.

Yarn: Jo Sharp Silkroad Aran Tweed in #118 Dusk, 3 balls

Needles: US Size 8, Clover bamboo circular

Cable Pattern: from the Harmony Guide's 220 Aran Stitches and Patterns - I simply added two stitches of reverse stockinette on each side

Gorgeous and long. Given the cable pattern, stays very flat, even when wearing it. A good wind block. Perhaps not the best for people with sensitive necks.

blogged.

This cowl uses an airy double-eyelet pattern that gives it plenty of drape and visual depth. Ribbing at the top and bottom of the cowl prevent curling. Instructions are written for either a single and double loop size.

First sock I've ever knitted. I like the colours a lot. The toe part went a bit wrong. Now I have a very pointy end. I hope to do this better with the second sock. It still fits very nice and is so comfortable to wear. Find the pattern here: www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/primavera-socks#
