The Kettleworks on Pope Street and Icknield Street, Jewellery Quarter.

A modern residential development.

Formerly called The Works, was Storage Space in the late 2000s.

Seems to be former offices and a warehouse from the Victorian era.

Scaffolding from 2011 to 2017. Completed by 2018 or 2019, now with flats and apartments.

Building dates to 1890. Originally a Swan kitchenware factory.

Thank you for appreciating our work!

Last week, when we were wandering around and stumbled upon the Fortunato Brothers, we saw workers in this storefront with a pensive woman looking supervisory and wondered what pun they'd name the place based on its former life as a meat market. Turns out, no pun, and instead a welcome addition. As the cook in our household put it, "Cookie cutters! Baking pans! Yea!"

"I'm Chiquita banana and I've come to say -

This one turned into the Chiquita Banana Lady, she's made of a vintage vase, old sugar bowl, old creamer, speckled 1950's red melmac cup and beads. She can sit around the kitchen and hold sugar packets or whatever in her headbowl. She measures 11 1/2 inches and doesn't sing or dance. She's signed and dated and no one else will have one like her.
