Shot for Smile on Saturday, theme "spoon and fork".
My heavily used kitchen tools, willing to pose for this weekend's assignment. Happy SoS everybody!
So here we have my kitchen grater which is four-sided with a handle on top. I started off taking photos of the bigger holes. Then I put a red light and a white light behind it and, voila, the small holes on the opposite side of the grater showed up. That surprised me, so I moved the lights around to show up the background holes more strikingly. Wow, these macro topics can be such fun and bring about rather surprising and delightful results. I would never have done any of this without a little prompting and I'm loving it. HMM 😀
Here's a picture of the grater

This week's Macro Mondays theme of "Back in the Day" was fun... I asked my mom if she had anything laying around that she used to use back in the day that isn't used anymore. This is a close-up of the gear of an old-fashioned egg beater. She said it belonged to her mother and she can remember her mom using it to mix all kinds of things together. Nowadays we use electric mixers or whisks to mix and beat ingredients. I love the Made in USA stamp in the center.

Thank you for your time, faves and comments, it is much appreciated
Happy Macro Mondays
We've needed a new set of measures for the cooking and baking we do around here so my husband took it on himself to get a lovely new set. Cookies and cakes and candy oh my....:D

This is a relatively modern rotary egg beater. This one was bought in 1962 by a lovely lady who gave it to me today - she is downsizing her kitchen and thought I might like it. Truth is, I have been looking for one for ages!
This device was invented by Willis Johnson, an African-American, in 1884. Read more, here:

Member's Choice - Found In The Kitchen
I found this pastry wheel in the very deep of my drawer. Didn't know that I owned it. I think it's time to take notice of it and do some baking where it will be used :-) HMM
Beside the scene:
This pineapple corer was a gift, so new to me, and also represents my hope to eat healthier this new year.
I didn't have loads of time this week but didn't want to miss a chance to participate. Have a great week everyone and Happy Macro Monday.

(justt a little over an inch and a half horizontally)
Wishing you all a HAPPY, HEALTHY, PEACEFUL and a blessed NEW WEEK!
I love this green garlic crusher. With a few twists the cloves are ready, the platform pushes up and makes get the garlic to the pan super easy, and clean up is a breeze. I have looked long and hard and I am very happy with this kitchen tool.
Macro Mondays - 2018-02-11
Theme: Hole
This is my sieve/strainer, with a lot of holes :-)
Happy Macro Mondays Folks!
Alternate take on this week's Smile on Saturday theme, KITCHTOOLIA. I actually like this image more than the one I posted to the group but it doesn't meet the theme quite as much as the one I used. Happy Saturday!
Shot for CC Week 2 - Contrast - Old vs New. I do still use an old potato masher for potatoes. This one was retired from someone's kitchen - I use it for arts and crafts. My hand blender I use all the time...
