"Writing is both an act of power and surrender.
Passion and discovery. It is a tug-at-your-soul that continues to
pull you forward, even as you go
kicking-and-screaming"

A super old clock here, an awning and a bicycle too. I think this is a table football place. This is in London (I had a day out on the beers), at Exmouth Market in Islington. The road outside is either pedestrianised, or very low traffic, whichever it was there were next to no cars which is always nice.
I don't normally shoot with film this slow (iso 25) so it's fun to try.

So named because back in the old west a horse kicked his owner into the river. The Kicking Horse River was a challenge to get the color correct. When we stopped to see it, the water was a greenish somewhat yellow color. Likely from the sediment picked up from the rushing current, it made for a unique color photo.
It's been a while but I'm back with a brand new post! As always check the link for outfit info! hoodcouturesl.wordpress.com/2018/05/01/kick-push-chill
Neenah yard is bustling with action as usual this fine summer morning. A pair of switchers are in charge of the 08:00 lead job that have started their careers on the Southern Pacific and are now earning their keep on the WC. The FLO jobs are gone off to Appleton, L2627 to Manitowoc L2829 to Shops Yard etc, and this job will swap blocks, flat switch and kick cars around the yard while dissecting and building the evening locals and drags for freights to pick up. Not many freights got through Neenah, without making a stop to set out or pick up freight...it was quite the place to stay busy and I was lucky enough to hold down the midnight switch engine a couple years later.

After clearing a 15 MPH slow order just west of Bennett, the engineer on UP 1943 throttles up in order to get back to track speed. In an interesting role reversal, the two EMD SD70ACes kick out a lot of exhaust when throttling up, while the GE in between burns clean through the acceleration.

Staring down the Minnesota Northern, the Cass Lake Local is rounding the curves into Erskine and kicking up snow on its way to its next stop. This is where I will drop my chase of the local in favor of the Minnesota Northern heading westbound to Crookston.

The Aurora Borealis put on quite a show last night. I rushed out to catch some of it and I could have been better prepared. Standing around with my camera at -25C in a pair of Jeans isn't the smartest way to go. To say I was cold is a bit of an understatement. Still, I did get a few nice shots before I absolutely had to come home. It was one of the most spectacular shows I've seen in many many years. The greens and reds were dancing all over the sky. In this photo, I captured near the end of my time out there, the lights were really truly kicking off. They were dancing all over the sky in front of me above me and behind me. A few other cars had also arrived with people to look and wonder at the majesty of it all.
Photo taken with the Olympus OM-D E-M1 and M.Zuiko 25mm f/1.2 Pro mounted on a tripod. All post processing was completed in DxO PhotoLab.
