U.S. Route 1
L'US 1 commence officiellement sur Whitehead Street à Key West, à l'intersection avec Fleming Street.

The U.S. Route 1 (also known as U.S. Highway 1, abbreviated as US 1) is a U.S. highway that runs the entire east coast of the country. Starting from Key West in the extreme south of Florida, it goes up to the Canadian border in Maine. Its route was then resumed by Interstate 95 which largely follows it, although it sinks more inland between Jacksonville (Florida) and Petersburg (Virginia).

Today I knew I was going to shoot, but I had no clear concept in mind. I just thought it would be cool to use these keys my mom bought me. I found some artificial lavender too and started thinking what they all could come together and represent. It hit me then -- peace, happiness, and/or serenity. I won't go into much explaining on how they mean that to me though!
Backlit emerging spring maple leaves and keys are nicely framed by the soft DoF background of shadow and light on the lake at Pine Grove Park near Liverpool. I placed the leaves and keys in the composition according to the vertical rule of thirds which contributes to the impression of a harmonious aesthetic in the image.
First thing I did upon checking in the room was to see what kind of view we had from the balcony. I spent the next 15 minutes watching this big guy climb to the top of the tree.
Recently got back from a trip to Joshua Tree National Park! Love getting down there to explore and enjoy the weather! I went on the Keys Ranch Tour there and it was so cool to see all the old buildings and machines left out there by William Keys. He was a miner of all sorts and has a tiny gold mill on his site. This is some of the machinery that was used to smash the rocks into pieces.
Key West and a sunset...just like peanut butter and jelly or thunder and lightning...a perfectly paired twosome!!

Such a handsome Key Rooster. It's too bad I couldn't get the whole rooster in frame. He must be used to people because he kept coming closer to me.
Schooner America 2.0 - Key West Harbor
Key West, Florida - Florida Keys - 12/3/20
*[left-double-click for a closer-look - magnificent majestic sails]
History: Designed and built by Scarano Boat Inc. in Albany, N.Y., the America 2.0 had big shoes to fill. Its 1995 predecessor, the 139-foot America (now berthed in Santa Barbara) won the hearts and minds of many islanders on and off the docks. That ship replicated the original America, a 101-foot sailing vessel that won an 1851 race against 15 yachts of the Royal Yacht Squadron in what would become known forever as the "America's Cup" in honor of that ship. The 1851 original America ended up a blockade-runner for the Confederacy and after the Yankees seized her, became a blockade-buster for the federals. She remained government property until falling victim to a shed collapse in 1945, and with the shed was scrapped and burned. A 170 year history with two replicas built.
America 2.0 (105 feet) replaced the 1995 replica schooner America (139 feet). The '95 replica is now berthed in Santa Barbara, California
The America 2.0, the Adirondack III, the Western Union, the Appledore and many other tall ships are credited with helping
to keep Key West's maritime traditions alive for years to come

*[often find myself waking up before dawn, so I enjoy
heading into town (in the middle of the night!) for a
little night photography! It's always fun and festive during
the holidays. Above, is at 6:00 AM. Thanks for looking]

Months later; I never regret getting up early for 'this' or any
of the 'beautiful sunrises', here! It's always worth the effort]

An attempt of high key over exposure of the old pier at Swanage.
Trying the over exposure to blend the sky with the sea to create one backdrop.
The correct exposure with the 10 stop filter would of been 15 sec, but this was exposed at 3 minutes.
Notice the Seagulls on the front posts even during this long exposure.
An image made looking to the south east from the summit of Key View [5185ft] in the Little San Bernadino Mountains, Joshua Tree National Park. The distant stretch of water is the Salton Sea behind the Cottonwood Mountains.
The term takes on a new meaning for Key Coaches, as they make the best of Lockdown. S5 is the latest bus to be fully repainted, and the sign-writing was added today. Thanks as always to Stevie Forbes for keeping me informed and sending pictures. I must admit I'm missing my tea and biscuits though, I need to visit soon!
A small, populated key near the jaws of the bay, Cayo Granma is a little fantasy island of red-roofed wooden houses – many of them on stilts above the water – that guard a traditional fishing community.
The best thing about this place, however, is just hanging out and soaking up a bit of the real Cuba.
